Chandigarh August 21: Taking a step forward to take Haryana further on e-governance on track, Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal today digitally launched e-Offices for switching over to electronic movement of files in 20 Departments and 3 Corporations . Besides this, the official flies pertaining to Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Chief Secretary (CS) Office and the Finance Department (FD), will be moved digitally.

On this occasion, Chief Minister also directed the officers that by September 15, 2020 e-Office should be made functional in all departments of the State.

Mr. Manohar Lal, in his inaugural address, said that through this process, all government work will be conducted in a fast and transparent manner. He said that by December 25, 2020, all the files in all the offices of the state will be move through e-Office.

He said that CMO, CS Office and FD offices have already switched over to the e-Office for processing the official files and e-Office in 20 departments and three Corporations have been launched today. He said that by September 1, 2020, e-Office will be implemented in 20 other departments. Apart from this, all the departments will start their work through e-office by September, 15, 2020.

The Chief Minister said that the initiative of e-Office is going to be a boon for many as it will not only save paper, but will also be a unique step to save the environment. He said that with these e-Offices, all official record will be made available on one digital platform. He directed the officers that all new files should be moved through e-Office and all the old files should be digitized. He directed all the departments to link their files with e-office within the stipulated time period.

While thanking the Chief Minister for launching e-Office, Chief Secretary, Mrs. Keshni Anand Arora, said that e-Office will prove to be a milestone in the history of Haryana. She assured Mr. Manohar Lal that by December 25, 2020, which is celebrated as Good Governance Day, e-Office will be implemented in all the departments across the State. She said that with the introduction of e-Office during COVID-19 is even more important as the manual exchange of files poses risk of virus spread.

Mrs. Arora informed that so far 18000 e-files of 42 departments, more than 71000 e-receipts, have been forwarded 3,80,000 times by 7200 users through e-Office.

She also informed that today CM Office, Chief Secretary Office, Finance Department, Development and Panchayats, Electronics and Information Technology, Employment, HARTRON, Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited, Higher Education, Housing, HSIIDC, Labour Department, New and Renewable Energy, Public Health Engineering, Rural Development, Science and Technology, Secondary Education, Skill Development and Industrial Training, Social Justices and Empowerment, Technical Education, Town and Country Planning, Transport (Commercial Wing), Transport (Regulatory Wing), Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes and Citizen Resource Information Department have been linked to e-Office which will speed up administrative work and increase transparency.

On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary, Finance Department, Mr. T. V. S. N. Prasad, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr. V. Umashankar, Principal Secretary, General Administration, Mr. Vijayendra Kumar, Director General, Skill Development and Industrial Training and Employment Department, Mr. Rakesh Gupta were also present. Apart from this, Additional Chief Secretaries and Principal Secretaries of other departments were also attended this inauguration ceremony through video conferencing.
