Chandigarh, June 20- Project Director, Chief Minister's Good Governance Associates Programme, Haryana, Dr. Rakesh Gupta said that with their resolve, the people of the state have made Haryana open defecation-free state. Apart from this, with the support of the people the state government has achieved new milestones of development in different areas, which have been appreciated at the national and international level.
Dr. Gupta was addressing over 400 students of IIT, IIM and other higher education institutions, from 23 states of the country in the policy boot camp in Sonipat today. He addressed on topic ‘Haryana Story of Transformation’.
He said that due to our strong resolve, today, the command of all the Panchayats and urban bodies of Haryana, is in the hands of educated people and for which, even the Supreme Court appreciated Haryana and we have done better work under International Solar Alliance.
He said that today the interest of a large number of youths is increasing towards the public policy and they are getting connecting through different mediums. In Haryana, under the CMGGA scheme, highly educated youth were linked with administrative arrangements. Haryana has taken revolutionary steps in the administrative area with the spirit of Antyodaya. He said that the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal took over the reins in 2014 and decided to bring changes in administrative arrangements, with a strong resolution. The first success story started with Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao which was launched from Panipat on January 22, 2015, at that time, the sex ratio was 871 girls per 1,000 boys in Haryana. Gender tests and selected sex abortion were the main reasons of low sex ratio. With the Beti Bacho, Beti Padhao campaign, public awareness was generated and strict actions were taken against those going for gender tests and female feoticide. Over 700 FIRs were registered and through better prosecution of culprits in courts they were awarded punishment. Resultantly, sex ratio reached 914 in 2018 and the state was conferred with many national level awards for saving girl childs.
He said that in Haryana, through the HARPATH App, a campaign was initiated to make roads of the state potholes-free. This scheme is among the successful schemes of the country and 73 per cent of complaints received on this app have been successfully resolved. Through Antyodaya Saral Kendras and Saral Kendras, today, the benefit about 500 schemes and services being given to the people of the state through 115 Saral Kendras.
He said that all the 107 blocks in Haryana, have been declared ‘Saksham’ in school education. In this scheme, school children have been trained in Hindi and mathematics. Not only this, five blocks have been turned into the Saksham plus category where the children have become proficient in English.
There are several such schemes which have shown excellent results like CM Window, Online Registry in Tehsils, Digital India, Public Dasboard, Online Teacher Transfer Policy.
Shobhit Mathur, Co-founder of Vision India Foundation said that every year, a 21-day seminar is organized in different sessions for nation-building in the month of June. The program is participated by students from across the country as well as from other countries.
