- Chandigarh, January 27- In view of bye-election in Jind, SSP, Mr Ashwin Shanvi today gave necessary guidelines to the police personnel deployed on the booth level duty related to election and security arrangements in Jind.
- He directed the police personnel to discharge their duty without any bias and take strict action against anti-social elements to avoid any untoward incidence.
- He said that during polling, no outer person or vehicle would be allowed in the district. In such case, the vehicle would be impounded and FIR would be registered against the person for further action.
- Election Nodal Officer, DSP Pushpa Khatri said that Police force in large number has been deputed for the peaceful conduct of Jind bye-elections. Three thousand police personnel and 500 home guards, one CRPF company and one RAF would be deployed. Additional police forces have been deployed at sensitivities and highly sensitive booths. There are 51 places where police check posts have been ensured for through checking for any intoxicants, liquor and weapons. In the Jind city and village, the police has been conducting Flag March for the last three days to keep vigil on anti-social elements. The district police is on high alert for the bye-elections in Jind.
- Chandigarh, January 27- The District Electoral Officer, Jind, Mr Amit Khatri said that those voters who do not have voter identity card, such voters can cast vote by showing any other 12 prescribed identity cards bearing photograph of the person.
- Giving this information today, Mr. Amit Khatri said that the Election Commission of India has approved of 12 other identity cards for those voters who do not have voters ID card so that every voter can cast his or her vote through any of these identity cards. By showing any of these 12 identity cards, driving license, MNREGA card, passport, service identity card, passport, bank passbook issued by post office, smart card, health insurance smart card, pensions related papers, Photo Voter Sleep and Aadhar card, the voter can cast his vote in the bye-election to Jind Assembly Constituency.
- Chandigarh, January 27- Sub Divisional Magistrate and Returning Officer of Jind Vidhan Sabha constituency, Mr Virendra Sehrawat said that the list of sensitive and highly sensitive polling booths of Jind Vidhan Sabha constituency and additional security arrangements would be ensured in these polling stations.
- While giving this information, Mr Sehrawat said that out of total 174 polling booths, 26 are highly sensitive and 32 are sensitive booths. The list of highly sensitive polling booths included booth number 4 of village Khedi Taloda, booth number 13, 14,15,16 of village Kandela, booth number 24, 25 of village Habatpur, booth number 33, 34 and 35 of village Nirjan, Booth no. 36 and 37 of village Pindari, Booth no. 151, 152 of village Jajwan, Booth no. 38, 43, 46, 49, 50, 63, 64, 66, 67,84,85,107 and 112 of the Jind city .
- He said that the list of sensitive polling booths included booth number 21 of village Kerkhedi, booth number 33, 34, 35 of village Nirjan, booth number 39,40,42,51,54,55,60,68,68,70 , 74, 75, 77, 78, 83,87,88, 94, 97, 99, 10, 106, 121, 122 of Jind city, Booth no. 148 and 149 of village Sangatpura, booth number 135 of village Barosola, and booth number 136 of Jind city.
- He said that Jind assembly constituency has a total of 1,72,774 voters, of which women voters are 80, 556 and male voters are 92, 208. There are 71 polling booths in rural areas of this constituency and 103 polling booths in urban areas. These include 16 auxiliary polling booths.
