  • Chandigarh, Dec 3 – Haryana Government has launched a new scheme to provide new LPG connection on subsidy of Rs 1,600 to Other Priority Households (OPH), which would be effective from January 26, 2019. All OPH families in the state, which have Khakhi Ration Card and no one in the family has LPG connection on their name and the head of the ration card is a woman, will be eligible under this scheme.
  • While stating this here today, a spokesman of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumers Affairs Department said that the subsidy amount of Rs 1,600, which at present is the security cost of cylinder and regulator, would be provided by the State Government and remaining amount of about Rs 633 would be borne by the consumer.
  • He said that the application form for obtaining gas connection can be obtained from any Common Service Centre, LPG dealer, website haryanafood.gov.in or office of District Food and Supplies Controller, Ration Card Preparation Centres or office of Deputy Commissioners. The applicants can submit their application forms at the nearby gas agency alongwith required documents including copy of OPH Ration Card, copies of Aadhaar Cards of all adult family members and copy of bank passbook.
  • Eligible OPH consumers can contact nearby LPG dealers for gas connection latest by January 26, 2019. For further information, they may contact District Food and Supplies Controller concerned. For any information, consumers can contact the Directorate of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs on toll free number 1800-180-2087 and 1967-BSNL.
  • The spokesman said that all Yellow and Pink card holder (BPL + AAY) families, which have no gas connection, should also get their gas connections released by submitting their application forms. No application form would be entertained after January 26, 2019, he added.
  • Chandigarh, December 3-  Haryana Governor, Mr Satyadeo Narain Arya today inaugurated the newly constructed second floor of Ambedkar Bhawan and hostel at the cost of over Rs 3 crore, in sector-8, Kurukshetra.
  • While addressing the people, the Governor also announced to give Rs 20 lakh for the beautification and to provide basic facilities to the building. He said that education is an invaluable asset, which increases on sharing it. Each individual in society should be educated so that they can contribute in society.
  • On the occasion, the Governor also paid floral tributes to the statue of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar. Mr Arya also honoured over 12 meritorious students with the citation and cash awards.
  • He said that the State Government under the leadership of Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal has initiated many schemes for the welfare of all sections of the society.
  • Chandigarh, Dec 3 – Haryana Education Minister, Mr. Ram Bilas Sharma said that Higher Education Department would run a special campaign to make students of all government and private colleges and universities aware of harmful effects of drug abuse.
  • In a statement issued here today, Mr. Sharma said that the State Government has been spreading awareness about ill-effects of drug abuse among the youth. He said that though there are laws to put a check on drug addiction and its abuse, but being a social issue it could be completely eliminated only with good moral values and awareness among youth. He said that teachers have great impact on students so they should also make students conscious about the ill effects of drugs.
  • The Minister said that Police Department has been taking strict action against those indulged in drug trafficking. Apart from this, more than 50 drug de-addiction centres are being run across the state. He said that 6500 vyayamshalas are being established in all villages of the state to engage them in healthy practices.
  • Chandigarh, Dec 3 – Haryana Governor, Mr. Satyadeo Narain Arya said that the International Gita Mahotsav-2018 would be organised at grand scale and for this, everyone would have to work together.
  • The Governor was presiding over meeting with Members of Kurukshetra Development Board, at Kurukshetra today.
  • During the meeting, Mr. Arya sought information about the activities of the Board and directed the officers to hold regular meetings of the Board so as to take regular stock of ongoing development works and frame policies for new development works.
  • Later, the Governor went on a e-rickshaw to take stock of arrangements of International Gita Mahotsav-2018 at Brahmsarovar. After inspecting the arrangements at Brahmasarovar, the Governor reached the Kurukshetra Kumbh 2018 function in e-rickshaw.
  • Chandigarh, December 3- In Haryana, more than 70.60 lakh metric tonnes (MTs) of Paddy has arrived so far in mandis.
  • While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department said that out of the total arrival, government procuring agencies have procured over 58.04 lakh metric tonnes whereas over 12.55 lakh metric tonnes of paddy is purchased by millers and dealers.
  • He said that more than 32.25 lakh MT of paddy have been purchased by the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, over 17.75 lakh MT by Hafed, over 7.85 lakh MT by the Haryana Warehousing Corporation and 17,744 MT by the Food Corporation of India.
  • Giving details of arrival in mandis of different districts, the spokesman said that out of the total arrival, the maximum quantity of paddy has arrived in Karnal which is over 15.21 lakh MT followed by Kurukshetra over 11.53 lakh MT. Similarly, over 8.18 lakh MT paddy has arrived in mandis of Kaithal, over 7.91 lakh MT in Fatehabad, over 7.74 lakh MT in Ambala, over 6.33 lakh MT in Yamunanagar, over 4.39 lakh MT in Jind, over 2.80 lakh MT in Sirsa, over 2.09 lakh MT each in Panipat, over 1.44 lakh MT in Panchkula, over 1.38 lakh MT in Hisar, over 48,093  MT in Faridabad, over 43,420  MT in Sonipat, 30,841 MT in Jhajjar, 10,957 MT in Rohtak, 10,180 MT in Palwal and over 9,645  MT in Mewat.
  • Chandigarh, December 3- Haryana Government has decided to make the payment of registration fee for the registration of instruments under the provisions of Registration Act, 1908, obligatory   through e-Challan   with effect from  December 10, 2018 in the offices of Sub-Registrars and Joint Sub-Registrar in the State, instead of cash payment in the interest of revenue and public. This will function similar to the e-Stamping system. 
  • Chandigarh, Dec 3 – The Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court, Mr. Justice Krishna Murari administered oath of office to ten judges including nine as Permanent Judges and one as Additional Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, here today.
  • Those who have administered oath as Permanent Judges of Punjab and Haryana High Court included Mr Justice Harminder Singh Madaan, Mr Justice Raj Shekhar Attri, Mr Justice Gurvinder Singh Gill, Mr Justice Arvind Singh Sangwan, Mr Justice Rajbir Sehrawat, Mr Justice Anil Kshetarpal, Mr Justice Avneesh Jhingan, Mr Justice Mahabir Singh Sindhu and Mr Justice Sudhir Mittal. Apart from this, Mr. Justice Harnaresh Singh Gill has been administered oath as Additional Judge of the court.
  • Chandigarh, Dec 3 – Haryana Khadi and Village Industries Board would establish sub-store namely ‘Har-Khadi’ in big cities and towns of the state so that the products of khadi and village industries would be easily available to people.
  • A decision to this effect has been taken in quarterly meeting of the Board held under the chairmanship of Chairperson, Mrs. Gargi Kakkar, at Panchkula near here today.
  • This decision would benefit the units of village industries and boost their production besides providing employment opportunities to local youth.
  • Others present in the meeting included Chief Executive Officer of the Board, Mr. Shekhar Vidyarthi, Additional Director, S.N. Singh, Member of the Board, Mrs. Komal Kishore, Secretary, Mr. Madan Lal Sharma and others.
  • Chandigarh, December 3- The cooperative sugar mills in Haryana have so far produced over 1.67 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 25.21 lakh quintals of sugarcane during the current crushing season.
  • While stating this here today, a spokesman of Haryana State Federation of Cooperative Sugar Mills said that the Cooperative Sugar Mill, Rohtak has produced a maximum of 30,300 quintals of sugar by crushing 5.06 lakh quintals of sugarcane. Cooperative Sugar Mill, Shahabad has produced 22,200 quintals of sugar by crushing 3.72 lakh quintals of sugarcane, followed by Cooperative Sugar Mill, Karnal, which has produced 28,110 quintals of sugar by crushing 3.68 lakh quintals of sugarcane.
  • He said that the Cooperative Sugar Mill, Meham has produced 18,650 quintals of sugar by crushing 3.37 lakh quintals of sugarcane, whereas Cooperative Sugar Mill, Jind has produced 22,775 quintals of sugar by crushing 2.98 lakh quintals of sugarcane. Similarly, Cooperative Sugar Mill, Kaithal has produced 18,250 quintals of sugar by crushing 2.72 lakh quintals of sugarcane, Cooperative Sugar Mill, Palwal has produced 15,325 quintals of sugar by crushing 2.11 lakh quintals of sugarcane and Cooperative Sugar Mill, Panipat has produced 11,525 quintals of sugar by crushing 1.57 lakh quintals of sugarcane.
  • Apart from this, HAFED Sugar Mill, Assandh has produced 20,900 quintals of sugar by crushing 3.57 lakh quintals of sugarcane.
  • He said that so far, average rate of sugar recovery by the cooperative sugar mills has been registered as 8.18 per cent.
  • Chandigarh, December 3: Haryana Government has nominated two non-official members of the District Public Relations and Grievances Committees of Bhiwani and Palwal with immediate effect.
  • Sunil Verma has been nominated as non-official member of District Public Relations and Grievances Committee, Bhiwani and Tejpal Yadav as non-official member of District Public Relations and Grievances Committee Palwal, respectively.
  • Chandigarh, December 3- Haryana Government has given Ashutosh Rajan (HCS), CAO, Haryana Dairy Development Cooperative Federation Ltd. and Joint Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Old Faridabad, as CAO, Haryana Dairy Development Cooperative Federation Ltd. the additional charge of Estate Officer, HSVP, Panchkula, with immediate effect.
  • Chandigarh, December 3: Haryana Government has cancelled the transfer and posting orders of two HCS officers namely Jaideep Kumar and Rajiv Prashad with immediate effect.
  • Accordingly, Rajiv Prashad would continue as Joint Director (Admn.) Secondary Education and Deputy Secretary, School Education Department and Sushil Kumar-I would continue on the additional charge of Sub Divisional Officer (Civil) Shahbad. 
  • The orders of posting in respect of Jaideep Kumar would be issued separately.
  • Chandigarh, December 3: In view of the general elections of seats of Mayor and Members of all wards of 5 Municipal Corporations and 2 municipal committees to be held on December 16, the Haryana Government has imposed ban on posting and transfer of officers or officials connected with the work of Municipal elections till declaration of election results.
  • While giving details, an official spokesperson said that as per the notification issued by Haryana State Election Commission dated November 22, 2018, the general elections of seats of Mayor and Members of all wards of 5 Municipal Corporations and 2 municipal committees including Hisar, Rohtak, Yamuna Nagar, Panipat and Karnal and of 2 Municipal committees including Jakhal Mandi (Fatehabad) and Pundri (Kaithal) would be held on December 16 and the results would be declared on December 19. Accordingly, Haryana Government has put ban on posting and transfer of officers or officials connected with the work of these elections, till the declaration of election results. However in case, where it is considered necessary, the prior approval of Haryana State Election Commission would be obtained, he added.
  • A letter to this effect has been issued from the office of Chief Secretary to all the Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Heads of Departments, Managing Directors, Chief Administrators of Boards and Corporations, Divisional commissioners and Deputy Commissioners of the State
