- Chandigarh, Nov 12 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, while on his way from Gurugram to Jhajjar, reviewed the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway and the arrangements regarding the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi’s visit to village Sultanpur in district Gurugram on November 19, 2018.
- The Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister would inaugurate the KMP Expressway and Ballabhgarh Metro and lay foundation stone of Haryana Vishwakarma Skill University, Palwal. Apart from this, he would also inaugurate and lay foundation stones of various development projects.
- Haryana Public Works (Building and Roads) Minister, Rao Narbir Singh was also present on this occasion.
- Chandigarh, November 12: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal said that Haryana CSR Summit-2018, the first of its kind initiative by the State Government, received a overwhelming response from the industry as senior business delegates from more than 250 companies participated in the event. Various leading companies have committed a contribution of over Rs 177 crore under the CSR in the State in different fields.
- Mr Manohar Lal was addressing a press conference at Gurugram today.
- He said that the industries and corporate houses have been urged to increase their contribution under the CSR fund for speedy implementation of various projects in the State.
- On this occasion, the Chief Minister expressed grief over the sad demise of Union Fertilizer and Chemicals and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Mr Ananth Kumar who breathed his last at Bengaluru today. Mr Ananth Kumar (59) was suffering from cancer and his demise is a huge loss to the Party, he added.
- The Chief Minister expressed his heartfelt condolences towards the bereaved family members and prayed the Almighty to give them enough strength to bear this irrecoverable loss. He also prayed that the departed soul might rest in peace.
- In reply to a question, the Chief Minister said that the State Government has taken several steps to keep a check on pollution in the State. The single use plastic bottles have been prohibited in all government offices and stringent measures have been taken to keep check on burning crop residue. Apart from this, a MOU has been signed with Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) for the setting of a plant in Panipat for preparing ethanol through stubble husk and straw.
- Chandigarh, Nov 12 - Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal said that the construction work of Central Research Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy at village Devarkhana in district Jhajjar would be got completed soon. He said that he would personally take up the matter at Centre regarding remaining work of the project and the Institute would be got started at the earliest so that local people and people from NCR would be benefitted with naturopathy.
- The Chief Minister was speaking after reviewing the progress of construction work of the Institute at village Devarkhana in district Jhajjar today.
- Later, interacting with mediapersons, he said that a sum of Rs 57 crore had been approved for this institute of which construction work of about Rs 34 crore have so far been completed under first phase. Almost 60 per cent work of the institute has been completed. He said that it is the priority of the State Government to start this institute at the earliest. He said that apart from this, the construction work of National Cancer Institute at Badhsa is in final stage. This area would be developed as a medical hub, he added.
- Mr. Manohar Lal said that under first phase of Central Research Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy, construction work of 13 buildings, 48 staff quarters, OPD and general ward have been completed. The hospital of this institute would have facility of 200 beds.

- He said that the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay foundation stones of various development projects in the inauguration function of KMP at Sultanpur in district Gurugram on November 19.
- Chandigarh, Nov 12 – Haryana Police have busted a gang of thieves allegedly involved in stealing batteries from parked vehicles and mobile towers during night in district Rewari and arrested ten persons.
- While stating this here today, a spokesman of Police Department said that members of gang were arrested near village Asalwas while they were planning to steal batteries. Among those who are arrested, maximum belonged to Rajasthan. They used to carry out recce first and then commit the crime during night. Atleast 12 such incidents have been carried out by them in district Rewari alone.
- Those arrested have been identified as Ganpat of district Rajsamand, Oma alias Om Parkash and Laxman of Bhilwara, Akash of Alwar, Rattan and Kanha of Ajmer, Monu of Sonipat, Sanjay and Mahesh of Bawal in Rewari and Shahid, a resident of Gaziabad.
- During preliminary interrogation, the accused have confessed to have committed more than 20 cases of theft in Rewari. Stolen goods worth lakh of rupees were also recovered from them.
- Explaining the gang's modus operandi, the spokesman said that gang member used cutter for stealing batteries from parked vehicles and mobile towers. After stealing batteries, they sold the same in another state.
- All the accused were taken on two-day police remand after producing them in the Court.
- Meanwhile, Director General of Police, Mr B.S. Sandhu lauded the efforts of Rewari Police in arresting gang members.
- Chandigarh, November 12: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal urged the industrial and corporate houses in the State to enhance their CSR contribution from two per cent to five percent of their profits and partner the State government in the speedy execution of various CSR projects in the State. At present, the annual contribution under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the State is 350 crore and a target has been fixed to increase it to Rs 1000 crore, he added.
- Mr Manohar Lal was addressing the representatives of leading industrial and corporate houses at the Haryana CSR Summit-2018 here today. Education Minister, Mr Ram Bilas Sharma, Public Works (Building and Roads) Minister Rao Narbir Singh and Industries Minister Mr Vipul Goel were also present on this occasion.
- Responding to the call made by the Chief Minister, various leading companies committed the contribution of over Rs 177 crore under the CSR in the State in the key areas of sanitation, rural development, education, skill development, environment, health and women empowerment.
- These companies included Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Hero Moto Corp, Honda Motors and Scooters India, Power Grid, DLF Foundation, India Oil Corporation Limited, NHPC, Jamna Auto Industries Limited, Startwire India Limited, Shivalik Prints Limited, Imperial Auto, GKN Driveline India Limited, Sledgehammer Oil Tools Private Limited, Reliance Foundation, Action Construction, India Autotech, Whirlpool India, Vamani Overseas Private Limited, Victora Auto, Maharani Innovative Paints Private Limited, Poly Medicure Limited, Showa Auto Tech and Fric India.
- On this occasion, the Chief Minister launched the Haryana CSR Website Portal www.haryanacsr.org showcasing list of development projects district wise and sector wise to be undertaken in the State. More than 341 development projects of seven departments including education, public health, rural development and agriculture are listed on the portal for corporate to pick and choose and contribute in various projects. In addition, details of the State Government implementing agencies were also given in the portal for corporate to contribute further in this regard.
- The Chief Minister urged the corporate houses to contribute towards the CSR as a sense of service to the society and not as an obligation. He also suggested carrying out special or internal audits by the companies to keep a check on discretion and ensure that the funds allocated for the CSR projects are fully utilized. Now the state government has made a structured system through which they could choose the projects from the online portal of Haryana CSR and contribute accordingly, he added.
- Mr Manohar Lal said that through the State Government make adequate provision of budget for various development works yet there are several projects which could also be completed with the help of CSR. He said that rejuvenation of 15,000 ponds, shamshan ghats (cremation grounds), pavement of village streets, environment conservation and beautification of rural and urban areas are among the key areas where the corporate sector could contribute. An amount of Rs 3000 crore is likely to be incurred on the rejuvenation of these ponds. Similarly, for providing facilities in shamshan ghats including the boundary wall , passage, shed and water would also cost Rs 3000 crore. He said that after the pavement of consolidated path in villages of over five karam, now the State Government has decided to make the pavement of three karam and four karam paths. Besides, he also asked the corporate to take up selected areas in rural and urban areas for beautification and also contribute in environment conservation. The state government has recently launched a campaign in the State under which 25 lakh saplings were planted by the school students. Besides plantation, the students would also ensure their upkeep for three years. An amount of Rs 75 crore would be spent on the plantation annually, he added.
- He said that the Rural Development Department is soon going to launch its website namely ‘Mera Gaon Mero Gaurav’ with an aim to connect the people with their villages. A number of development works would be listed on the website that could be taken up by the industrial houses and corporates. Apart from this, the village panchayats would be asked to prepare village plans along with the budget requirement and upload the same on this website so that people could opt the work to be undertaken in their village by sitting anywhere. There are large number of people who hail from the Haryana and settled well in other states and countries and they could volunteer the work to be undertaken in their villages.
- On this occasion, the Chief Minister honoured Corporates, Public Enterprises and Deputy Commissioners for their outstanding contribution in CSR space in Haryana through Haryana State CSR Awards 2018. The Corporates included Hero Motorcorp Limited, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, DLF Foundation, Honda Motorcycles and Scooter India Private Limited and HDFC Bank Limited. The Public Sector Undertaking included Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited and Power Grid Corporation of India. Among the Deputy Commissioners who have been honoured are Deputy Commissioner Gurugram Mr Vinay Pratap Singh, Deputy Commissioner Jhajjar Mrs Sonal Goyal and Deputy Commissioner Hisar Mr Ashok Meena.
- Earlier, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between India Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) and Gurugram University in the presence of Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal. While Additional Chief Secretary Industries and Commerce Mr Devender Singh signed MOU on behalf of the State Government, Dr Sammer Sharma signed on behalf of IICA. The State Government has also signed a MOU with Hero Motor Corps. Additional Chief Secretary Industries and Commerce Mr Devender Singh signed MOU on behalf of the State Government, Mr Vijay Sethi signed on behalf of Hero Motor Corps. The Chief Minister also inaugurated the Government Senior Secondary School Kadipur through remote. The school building has been constructed by Power Grid Corporation of India under the CSR initiative.
- Speaking on this occasion Education Minister Mr Ram Bilas Sharma said that Haryana has over 6000 villages and urged the industrial and corporate houses to adopt atleast one village for development. He said that the present State Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal is government with difference which has provided appropriate environment and security to the entrepreneurs in the State.
- Public Works (Building and Roads) Minister Rao Narbir Singh thanked the Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal for constituting the CSR Advisory Board and also organizing CSR Summit in Gurugram. He said that today a large number of multinational companies have set up their offices in Gurugram.
- Industries Minister Mr Vipul Goel said that the present State Government has ensured all round development of the State during the last four years and with the setting up of CSR Advisory Board and launching the CSR Website Portal, a new chapter has been added to the development and growth of corporate sector. He said that launch of CSR Website Portal would held the entrepreneurs for easy selection and implementation of projects. Apart from choosing the projects for implementation, the entrepreneur could also give their suggestion on this website.
- Chief Secretary Mr D.S Dhesi, Additional Chief Secretary Industries and Commerce Mr Devender Singh, Additional Secretary of Department of Public Enterprises, Government of India Dr Madhukar Gupta, Director Power Grid Corporation of India Mr I.S Jha, Mr A.K Tomar from Maruti Suzuki, Mr Harbhajan Singh of Honda2wheelers, former Chief Secretary Mr MC Gupta, IAS (Retd.) also spoke on this occasion
- Chandigarh, Nov 12 – Haryana Government has decided to extend the benefit of 7th Pay Commission to the teaching staff and equivalent cadres in three technical universities of the state falling under Higher Education Department. A proposal to this effect has been approved by the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal.
- While stating this here today, the Finance Minister, Capt Abhimanyu said that these included Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA Faridabad and Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology, Murthal.
- He said that the revised pay would be implemented from January 1, 2016 and it would have financial implication of over Rs 10 crore on state exchequer.
