- Chandigarh, Oct 16 – Haryana Governor, Mr. Satyadeo Narain Arya said that the setting up of Statue of Unity of first Deputy Prime Minister and first Home Minister, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in Gujarat would deliver a message of unity and national integrity in the entire country for the coming generations.
- The Governor was speaking while interacting with nine-member high-level delegation from Gujarat led by Gujarat Education Minister, Mr. Bhupendrasinh Manubha Chudasama, at Haryana Raj Bhavan here today. The delegation has visited Haryana to invite the Governor and other dignitaries to visit Gujarat.
- Mr. Arya said that under the leadership of Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, the youth has been made aware of the teachings of great personalities so that they could also play constructive role in building of the nation. He said that the youth should get information about the struggles of those great leaders which would further strengthen the national unity and integrity. It is a matter of great pride for the people of the nation and the state that Statue of Unity of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is being established in Gujarat and statue of Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram has been established in Haryana.
- Chandigarh, October 16 – In Haryana, a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Summit will be organized in Gurugram on November 12, 2018. In this Summit, about 600 guests from the corporate world will be invited.
- This was informed in a meeting presided over by Haryana Chief Secretary, Mr D.S. Dhesi, here today.
- It was informed in the meeting that Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs and KPMG would be the knowledge Partners for CSR summit. During Haryana CSR summit, the state CSR portal would be launched so as to give direction to CSR funds for development projects in the state. Apart from this, the State CSR Awards would also be felicitated during the Summit.
- During the Summit, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) would be signed between Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) and Haryana Government to establish a CSR Project Management Unit, facilitating corporate in making their CSR policies, connecting corporate to the development needs, monitoring and evaluation of CSR projects and project based capacity building.
- Those present included Additional Chief Secretary and Financial Commissioner, Revenue and Disaster Management, Mrs Keshni Anand Arora, Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Mrs Navraj Sandhu, Additional Chief Secretary, Transport, Mr. Dhanpat Singh, Additional Chief Secretary, Tourism, Mr.Vijai Vardhan, Additional Chief Secretary, Public Works (Buildings and Roads), Mr. Alok Nigam, Additional Chief Secretary, School Education, Mrs Dheera Khandelwal, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Mr. Devender Singh, Additional Chief Secretary, Medical Education and Research Department, Mr. Amit Jha, Additional Chief Secretary,Haryana Skill Development and Industrial Training, Mr. T.C. Gupta and senior officers of other departments.
- Chandigarh, October 16– Haryana Chief Secretary, Mr D.S. Dhesi directed to make all-out efforts to attain the first place in Ease of Doing Business at the national level.
- Mr. Dhesi was presiding over the review meeting of Business Reform Action Plan-2018 of Ease of Doing Business, here today.
- He directed that the departments would ensure that all investors are provided facilities through online medium, in time and get all the remaining processes of Business Reform Action Plan completed, at the earliest, in order to provide maximum facilities to investors.
- It was informed in the meeting that under Business Reform Action Plan, 80 reform questions and 140 pointers have been included and 18 departments are working. In the Business Reform Action Plan-2017 372 Reform Questions were included.
- Those present included Additional Chief Secretary and Financial Commissioner, Revenue and Disaster Management, Mrs Keshni Anand Arora, Additional Chief Secretary, Excise and Taxation Departments, Mr Sanjeev Kaushal, Additional Chief Secretary, Power, Mr. P.K. - Chandigarh, Oct 16 – In Haryana, a Pharma Park would be established over 100 acres at Karnal. Apart from this, Haryana Pharmaceutical Policy 2018 is being framed to facilitate pharmaceutical companies in the state.
- This was informed by Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister, Mr. Vipul Goel while speaking at Stakeholder Consultation for formulation of Pharma Policy, Haryana, here today. Additional Chief Secretary, Industries Department, Mr. Devender Singh and Director, Industries Department, Mr Ashok Sangwan were also present on this occasion.
- Representatives of various pharma companies of Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and other states attended the meeting organised by Haryana Industries and Commerce Department. All stakeholders appreciated the policy being framed by the State Government and added that for the first time in the history of Haryana, Pharmaceutical Policy is being framed.
- Urging all stakeholders to invest in the pharmaceutical sector in Haryana, Mr. Goel said that the Pharma Park would be established over 100 acres in Haryana and special concessions and rebates would be given to those setting up their companies in the pharmaceutical sector in Haryana. Investment of about Rs 3,000 crore is expected to be made in this pharma park which would provide employment to about 33,000 persons. The aim of the State Government to frame Haryana Pharmaceutical Policy 2018 is to simplify the working of pharma companies and provide maximum employment to youth in the state.
- He said that the State Government has, during last four years, taken various reformative and progressive measures in the Industries and Commerce Department. Haryana is a leading state in terms of ensuring industrial development, developing industrial eco-system and providing facilities to the investors.
- The Minister said that in 2015, when the Government of India had launched ranking for ease of doing business, Haryana was at 14th position. As a result of the measures taken by the State Government, now the State has reached at third position in terms of Ease of Doing Business, and a target has been set to soon bag the first position, he added.
- Chandigarh, Oct 16 - Gujarat Education Minister, Mr. Bhupendrasinh Manubha Chudasama said that 182 meters tall Statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the tallest in the world, to be dedicated to the nation by the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi on his 142nd birth anniversary on October 31 would inspire the coming generation about the contribution of the Iron Man in the unity of India.
- Mr. Chudasama, who was leading a high-level delegation to Haryana, was addressing a press conference, here today. Haryana Education Minister, Mr. Ram Bilas Sharma and Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr. O.P. Dhankar were also present on this occasion.
- The delegation comprised of Member of Parliament, Mr. Lal Singh Vadodiya, MLAs namely Mr. Babu Bhai Patel, Ms. Manisha Ben and Mr. Ratan Singh Rathore, IAS, Ms. Sunaina Tomar and IPS, Mr. Ajay Tomar.
- Mr. Chudasama also invited the people of Haryana to visit the Statue of Unity in Gujarat.
- He said that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel had made unique contribution in brining 546 princely states together for the unity and harmony of the nation. To pay tribute to a leader of high stature and to ensure that his contribution did not remain confined to holidays and books, the then Chief Minister of Gujarat and Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi had decided to construct a unique monument of Sardar Patel at Sadhu Bet near Sardar Sarovar, Kevadiya Colony, 3.2 km away and situated in downriver place of the Sardar Sarovar Dam. The objective was to inspire future generations from the life and deeds of Sardar Patel, he added.
- He said that a Shrestha Bharat Complex has been set up near the Statue of Unity which would house Bhavans of different states. Gujarat Chief Minister, Mr. Vijay Rupani has sent a written communication to Chief Ministers of all states for setting up their respective bhavans, to which Haryana and Uttar Pradesh have already consented. He said that after the inauguration of statue by the Prime Minister on October 31, it would be open for other guests from November 1 onwards. Apart from this, advertisement has also been released abroad also for inviting the foreign tourists to visit the Statue of Unity.
- Mr. Chudasama said that the Statue of Unity has been constructed at a cost of about Rs 2,332 crore and about 15,000 tourists from country and abroad are likely to visit the statue everyday. It would also have museum, exhibition and research centre. The research centres would facilitate the scholars to do research work on life of great personalities like Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. As the statue is situated in a tribal area, the huge footfall of the tourists would help in development of this area and also create large scale employment avenues. A 17 kilometre long flower valley would give mesmerizing experience to the tourists visiting the statue. About 100 guides would be available at the site for the convenience of the visitors, he added.
- The senior cabinet minister said that about 70,000 tonnes cement, 18,500 tonnes reinforcement steel and 6,000 tonnes structural steel has been used in the construction of Statue of Unity. The upper layer of the monument would be of 22,600 square metres area made of 1,700 metric tonnes bronze.
- Mr. Chudasama also appreciated the efforts made by the then National President of BJPs Kisan Morcha and Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr. O.P. Dhankar in collecting iron and soil for the statue from different parts of the country.
- Among those present on this occasion included Director General, Information, Public Relations and Languages Department Mr Sameer Pal Srow.
- Chandigarh, October 16: Haryana Minister of State for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Mr Karan Dev Kamboj said that the state government is considering the proposal of A.G. Dotter, a private company to clean the dirty water flowing in the drain in Dhanaura Escape. For this, ultra cold plasma gasification technique would be used for generating energy from waste.
- In this regard, the Minister was presiding over a review meeting with senior officers of Environment, Public Health Engineering, Irrigation, Industries and Commerce and New and Renewable Energy Departments, here today.
- He said that the Public Health Engineering Department has been directed to make land available for the purpose. Under the proposal, the A.G. Dotter Company would set up a sewerage treatment–cum-power-plant in Yamunanagar or near Dhanaura Escape to purify the dirty water which would be classified into three parts.
- The Managing Director of the Company, Mr Ajay Girotra claimed that it would not only generate electricity and fuel from dirty water but would also make it potable and usable for irrigation. He said that about 65 MLD waste containing fluid comes in Dhanaura Escape, from which 650 MW per hour electricity, 35 MLD drinkable water and 15 MLD fuel could be generated. With this, the nearby villages would be relieved from foul smell emanating from the dirty water.
- He said that from this drain, the dirty water was spreading foul smell in the nearby areas, because of which there is a danger of spreading of disease. This was long pending demand of people of villages Kalsora, Jupati Chapra, Dhabkoli Kalan, Dhabkoli Khurd and other villages.

- Chandigarh, Oct 16- Haryana government has nominated Rakesh Sekhawat of Mahendragarh as non-official member of the District Grievances Redressal Committee, Mahendragarh, with immediate effect.
- Chandigarh, October 16: Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has caught Assistant Sub Inspector, Jitender Kumar, Police Station, Udyog Vihar, Gurugram, red handed while accepting illegal gratification of Rs 10,000 from Vineet Kumar of Gurugram.
- While giving this information here today, a spokesman of the Bureau said that Jitender Kumar accepted the bribe in lieu of preparing papers and producing the P.O. in the court as the P.O. was declared in cheque bounce case. A case has been registered against him under section 7 and 13 of Prevention of Corruption Act at bureau’s police station, Gurugram. Further investigation of the case is in progress.
