- Chandigarh, September 26– Haryana Health Minister, Mr Anil Vij said that CT scan and MRI services started by the State Government under Public-private Partnership (PPP) model have successfully completed three years. These facilities are provided on concessional rates in government hospitals across the State.
- Mr Vij said that under Mukhyamantri Muft Ilaaj Yojna this facility is available free of cost for 7 different categories. This facility is provided to Haryana’s BPL families’ patients, Scheduled Caste, patients residing in urban slums, patients taking disability allowance from Haryana Government, employees of Haryana Government, pensioners and their dependents, unclaimed accident victims and the poor people of other categories.
- The Minister said that this facility was started from Government Hospital, Gurugram in 2015. After this it was extended to other hospitals of the State. As many as 166687 patients have availed the scanning facility in various hospitals of the State till August 2108. Out of this 51189 patients were examined free of cost.
- Mr Vij said that at present 16 hospitals and 4 medical colleges of various districts are providing CT Scan and MRI facilities. It includes districts of Bhiwani, Faridabad, Panchkula, Gurugram, Sonipat, Yamuna Nagar, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Palwal, Sirsa,Jind, Hisar, Panipat, Rohtak, Ambala Cantonment and Ambala. Under this an amount of Rs 700 is charged from the patients for CT scan of Head and Rs 2100 for MRI of brain which is almost half of the amount charged in the market otherwise. Besides this, best medical facilities are provided by the State Government.
