  • Chandigarh, Sept 6 – Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, Mr. Anil Vij said that five sports have been included in the cash prize policy and cash prize scheme has been started for sportspersons in youth, junior and sub-junior competitions. This would benefit the school and university players.
  •  Mr. Vij said that under Khelo India (School or University) tournament, Rs 50,000 would be given for winning gold medal, Rs 30,000 for silver medal and Rs 20,000 for bronze medal. Similarly in Deaflympics, the gold medallist would be given Rs 1.20 crore, silver medallist Rs 80 lakh, bronze medallist Rs 40 lakh and the participating player would get Rs 2.5 lakh. He said that the gold medal winner in IBSA World Games and Special Olympics would get Rs 20 lakh, the silver medal winner would get Rs 15 lakh, bronze medallist would get Rs 10 lakh and the participating player would get Rs two lakh.
  •  He said that the gold medal winner in 4-year Blind Cricket World Cup would get Rs five lakh, the silver medal winner would get Rs three lakh, bronze medallist would get Rs two lakh and the participating player would get Rs one lakh. Similarly, the gold medal winner in World Cup or Championship, Para World Game or Para World Championship (two or more times in  a year)  would get Rs 10 lakh, the silver medal winner would get Rs 7.5 lakh and bronze medallist would get Rs five lakh.
  •  He said that the cash award for medallists of Youth, Junior, Sub-Junior Level Tournaments would be increased. The cash award for gold medallists in World Cup of Championship (once in 4 years cycle) would be increased to Rs 1.50 crore from Rs 25 lakh, Silver medallist to Rs 75 lakh from Rs 20 lakh, Bronze medallists to Rs 50 lakh from Rs 15 lakh and the participating player to Rs 7.5 lakh. Similarly, the cash award for  gold medallist in Para World Games or Para World Championship (once in 4 years cycle) would be increased to Rs 1.50 crore from Rs 20 lakh, Silver medallists to Rs 75 lakh from Rs15 lakh, Bronze medallists to Rs 50 lakh from Rs 10 lakh and the participating player to Rs 7.5 lakh.
  • The cash award for gold medallists in World Cup or Championship or Para World Game or Para World Championship Games or Para World Championship (once in 2 years cycle) would be increased to Rs 40 lakh from Rs 20 lakh, Silver medallist to Rs 30 lakh from Rs15 lakh, Bronze medallists to Rs 20 lakh from Rs 10 lakh and the participating player to Rs five lakh from Rs 3 lakh. While, the cash award for gold medallist in World Cup or Championship or Para World Game or Para World Championship Games or Para World Championship (once in 2 or more times in a year) would get Rs 10 lakh, Silver medallist Rs 7.5 lakh and Bronze medallists Rs five lakh and participating players Rs 1.5 lakh.
  • He said that in World Junior Cup or Championship or Junior Para World Games or Championship (two or more times in a years), the gold medallist would get Rs five lakh, Silver medallist Rs three lakh and Bronze medallist Rs one lakh. Similarly, in World Sub-Junior Cup or Championship, Sub-Junior Para World Games or Championship (once in one, two or four years cycle), the gold medallist would get Rs five lakh, Silver medallist Rs three lakh and Bronze medallist Rs one lakh. In Asian or Commonwealth Junior Championship or Cup, the gold medallists would get Rs three lakh, Silver medallist Rs two lakh and Bronze medallist Rs one lakh and in Asian or Comonwelath Sub-Junior Championship or Cup, the gold medallist would get Rs 1.5 lakh, Silver medallist Rs one lakh and Bronze medallist Rs 50,000.  
  • In SAF Junior Games, the gold medallist would get Rs 1.5 lakh, Silver medallist Rs one lakh and Bronze medallist Rs 50,000. In National Junior Championship or Junior Para National Championship, the gold medallist would get Rs 50,000, Silver medallist Rs 30,000 and Bronze medallist Rs 20,000 and in National Sub-Junior Championship or Sub-Junior Para National Championship, the gold medallist would get Rs 25,000, Silver medallist Rs 15,000 and Bronze medallist Rs 10,000.  Similarly, cash award of Rs 5 lakh would be given to International Grand Master and Rs 2 lakh to International Master or International Women Master.
  • He said that in Olympics or Para Olympics, cash award of Rs 20 lakh would be given to the coach of gold medallist, Rs 15 lakh to the coach of silver medallist and Rs 12 lakh to the coach of Bronze medallist. Similarly, in Asian or Para Asian games, cash award of Rs 15 lakh would be given to the coach of gold medallist, Rs 10 lakh to the coach of silver medallist and Rs seven lakh to the coach of Bronze medallist and in Commonwealth Games or Para Common Wealth games, cash award of Rs 10 lakh would be given to the coach of gold medallist, Rs five lakh to the coach of silver medallist and Rs two lakh to the coach of Bronze medallist.
