  • Chandigarh, August 22:  Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal said that ashes of former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna, Late Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee would be immersed in 100 rivers across the nation. The former Prime Minister’s ashes would be immersed in Haryana at two places, Pehowa in Kurukshetra district and Hathnikund  in Yamunanagar district on August 23, 2018.
  • The Chief Minister was interacting with media persons on the occasion of   “Asthi Visarjan Yatra” of former Prime Minister at Bahdurgarh in Jhajjar district. Keeping in view the sentiments of the people, the proposal to name the KMP expressway, Gurugram’s Global City, Hisar Airport on the name of Atal ji has been sent to the Central Government, he added.
  • Mr Manohar Lal said that the entire country is paying homage to the great leader. Thousands of people have gathered today to pay homage to their leader which signifies their love and admiration for Atal ji. The Chief Minister said that Late Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee was a great leader of the masses and revered by everyone.
  •  Others who paid homage to former Prime Minister on Asthi Visarjan Yatra  included Education Minister, Mr Ram Bilas Sharma, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr O.P. Dhankar, Health Minister, Mr Anil Vij, Transport Minister, Mr Krishan Lal Panwar, PWD (B&R) Minister, Rao Narbir Singh, Industries Minister, Mr Vipul Goel, Minister of State for Co-operation, Mr Manish Kumar Grover, Public Health and Engineering Minister, Dr Banwari Lal, Food and Supplies Minister, Mr Karan Dev Kamboj, Member of Parliament, Mr Dharmvir, Rajya Sabha Member, Mr D.P. Vats, MLAs  Mr Naresh Kaushik, Ms Seema Trikha, Mr Harvinder Kalyan, Mrs Prem Lata, Mr Umesh Aggarwal, Mr Moolchand Sharma, Mr Tek Chand Sharma, Mrs Bimla Chaudhary and Mr Vikram Yadav and Media Advisor to Chief Minister, Mr Amit Arya.  Besides thousands of people gathered there to pay  tributes to the great leader.         
  • Education Minister, Mr Ram Bilas Sharma, Transport Minister, Mr Krishan Lal Panwar and Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mr Nayab Saini would remain with the Asthi Visarjan Yatra at Hathnikund in Yamunanagar.
  • The Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr O.P. Dhankar,   Minister of State for Co-operation, Mr Manish Kumar Grover and State BJP President, Mr Subhash Barala  would remain with  Asthi Visarjan Yatra at Pehowa,  Kurukshetra.
  • It may be recalled that on August 17, a Cabinet Meeting was held under the chairmanship of Mr Manohar Lal at New Delhi to pay tributes to the former Prime Minister. An obituary resolution   was passed and two-minute silence was observed as an expression of gratitude towards his selfless service for the nation.   Shraddhanjli Sabhas were organized throughout the State on August 19 to pay tributes to the great leader.
