  • Chandigarh, Aug 18 – Haryana Government has ordered special girdawari of kharif crops in 59 villages of Yamunanagar, Karnal and Faridabad. Crops sown in about 9443 acres have been affected due to heavy rains and floods.
  • While stating this here today, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu said that orders have been issued after receiving reports in this regard from Deputy Commissioners concerned. The affected crops included paddy, bajra, cotton and other vegetables.
  • The Minister said that girdawari is being conducted on damaged crops in 26 villages of Yamunanagar. These included Odri, Lapra, Kaat, Mandi, Mehmoodpur, Bakarpur, Mandauli, Kalanaur, Isarpur, Tapu Kamalpur, Bibipur, Jairampur Jagir, Majri Tapu, Bid Tapu, Jodhpur, Naharpur, Balachaur, Kharwan, Bhukhri, Sudhail, Bhamboli, Bhambol, Kanhri Khurd, Nagla Jagir, Hangoli and Sudhal. Crops sown in about 1260 acres of these villages have been affected due to floods and heavy rains.
  • He said that girdawari would be carried out in 15 villages of district Karnal. These included Chandrav, Gadhpur Tapu, Nabiabad, Kalsoura, Syed Chapra, Halvana, Nagal, Kamalpur Roran, Tatarpur, Japti Chhapra, Randoli, Dabkoli Kalan, Chougama, Balhera and Garhi Malal. The heavy rains and floods have affected crops sown in about 7342 acres, he added.
  • Capt. Abhimanyu said that orders have been issued to conduct girdawari in 18 villages of Faridabad. These villages are Chhainsa, Makanpur, Shahjahanpur, Latifpur, Jafarpur Majra Chhainsa, Sahupura Khadar, Mohna, Mohiapur, Panhera Khurd, Nariyala, Narhavli, Mehmoodpur, Aterna, Javan, Hirapur, Lalpur, Basantpur and Agwanpur.
  • The Minister said that as soon as girdawari report would be received, action would be initiated on it.
