- Chandigarh, Jan 17 – Haryana government has decided to create 12 posts for the newly created OP Division Hodal on a provisional basis. New OP Division Hodal has been created after bifurcating existing OP Division Palwal.
- While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal has approved a proposal of Power Department for creation of these posts including one each of Executive Engineer, Deputy Superintendent (F), Divisional Accountant, Junior Engineer (F), Head Draftsman and Assistant (F), and three each of Upper Division Clerk and Lower Division Clerk.
- He said that Power Department had also been asked to complete restructuring exercise of staff at the earliest.
- Chandigarh, Jan 17–The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, has described the recent incidents of violence against women as unfortunate and assured the people that the government will take all measures to arrest the culprits and put them behind the bars.
- Speaking to media persons in New Delhi today, he urged the political parties not to politicize such issues. Such incidents are highly condemnable and we should discuss together how to avoid such kind of heinous crime in future.
- The police officers have been directed to expedite patrolling in their respective areas. Apart from suspension of NGOs, three IG level officers have been transferred. A number of initiatives are being taken to further improve the working of the police, he said.
- Apart from ‘Dial 100 Project’, we would also launch ‘1090 project’ so that women in danger can immediately contact with police through touchpad on mobile. We have also set up special courts for speedy trials of such cases, the Chief Minister added.
