  • Chandigarh, Feb 24–The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, has said that Haryana and UP have religious, mythological, and cultural relations for several decades and these relations would be made stronger..
  • Addressing a gathering during Rangotsav-Lathmar Holi organised at Barsana in UP, today, the Chief Minister said Holi, the festival of love and joy, is being celebrated in the country since ancient times. It is celebrated in different forms during the entire Falgun month in Braj. 
  • While UP is the ‘Janamsthal’ (birthplace) of Lord Krishna and Kurukshetra of Haryana is the ‘Karamsthali’ of Lord Krishna.Referring to UP as the theme state at the Surajkund International Crafts Mela 2018 organised at Surajkund in Faridabad district, the Chief Minister said relations with UP would be developed in other fields as well.
  • Speaking on the occasion, UP Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, said the Haryana Government would undertake renovation of 84 kos parikrama marg at Braj area. He expressed gratitude to the Haryana Government, especially the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, for this step.
  • UP Women’s Welfare and Tourism Minister, Mrs. Reeta Bahuguna Joshi, and Dairy Development and Religious Affairs Minister, Mr. Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary, also spoke on this occasion.
  • Chandigarh, Feb 24–Haryana and Uttar Pradesh have decided to work together to improve the law-and-order situation in the two states, take steps to check illegal mining and solve the common issues affecting the people of the two neighbours.    
  • This was decided at a meeting held between the Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, and UP Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, in Mathura, today.
  • It has been decided that Director Generals of Police of both states would meet every three months on a regular basis. Senior officers of Delhi Police would also attend the meeting. Yogi Adityanath said both states would work together on common issues to facilitate people of both states.
  • The Chief Secretaries of both states would meet soon to ensure availability of adequate amount of irrigation water in Agra Canal and cleanliness of minors. Both states would work together for the construction of bridge on the Yamuna near Hasanpur in Palwal district of Haryana. 
  • To solve excise related issues, a meeting of senior officers of both states would be held along with officers of Rajasthan, Delhi, and Madhya Pradesh. Both states would jointly work to put a check on illegal mining. Also, exchange of cultural activities would be done on a regular basis.
  • Mr. Manohar Lal said the 84 kos parikrama falling in Braj area of Haryana would be renovated. Besides, renovation work of some religious and pilgrimage places in Braj area will also be undertaken as announced by him.
  • In this connection, a meeting of senior officers Tourism and Public Works (Buildings and Roads) Departments of both Haryana and UP would be held soon, he added.
  • Others present at the meeting included UP Dairy Development and Religious Affairs Minister, Mr. Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary, and Energy Minister, Mr. Shrikant Sharma.
