Chandigarh, December 19 - Haryana Chief Minister Sh Manohar Lal, while emphasizing the State Government's commitment to citizens' welfare and healthcare services, stated that the current government is diligently striving to enhance healthcare facilities for the people of the state. The government's sustained efforts in the health sector include the launch of various schemes to ensure better health for the people. Haryana Government has aimed to provide free medical services to the economically weaker sections under the Ayushman Bharat Chirayu Haryana Scheme. As a significant development, this scheme has recently expanded its coverage, now benefiting families with an annual income ranging from Rs 1.80 lakh to Rs 3 lakh.
He informed that a total of 1,00,48,464 cards have been made under the scheme till December 19, 2023. Under the data of Socio-Economic and Caste Census of 2011, 28,89,287 cards have been made, while 71,01,289 cards have been made under the Chirayu Scheme and 57,888 cards have been made under the Chirayu Extension Scheme. He informed that 4,42,209 Chirayu cards have been made in Ambala district, 5,59,588 in Bhiwani, 2,17,225 in Charkhi Dadri, 4,06,273 in Faridabad, 4,56,931 in Fatehabad, 3,19,460 in Gurugram 8,34,401 in Hisar, 3,23,222 in Jhajjar, 5,86,597 in Jind, 5,02,953 in Kaithal, 6,77,047 in Karnal, 4,58,021 in Kurukshetra, 4,13,866 in Mahendragarh and 402735 in Mewat. There are 4,02,463 cards made in Palwal, 1,54,234 in Panchkula, 5,46,338 in Panipat, 3,09,837 in Rewari, 3,66,706 in Rohtak, 5,69,870 in Sirsa, 5,14,119 in Sonipat and 5,84,372 cards in Yamunanagar district have been created.
It is noteworthy that families with annual income of Rs 1.20 lakh were included in the Ayushman Bharat Scheme of the Central Government, whose names were in the data of Socio-Economic and Caste Census (SECC-2011). With the aim of giving the benefit of this scheme to maximum people, Haryana Government started Chirayu Haryana Scheme by increasing the scope of this scheme and increased the annual income limit from Rs 1.20 lakh to Rs 1.80 lakh. While expanding the scheme, Haryana Government has also included those people whose annual income is more than Rs 1.80 lakh and less than Rs 3 lakh. Such families are also taking the benefit of this scheme by paying an annual premium of only Rs 1500. A total of 715 hospitals are listed in the state under this scheme, which includes 539 private hospitals and 176 government hospitals.
