Chandigarh, Nov 30 - In a pioneering move towards technological innovation, Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi today inaugurated the ‘Pradhan Mantri Mahila Kisan Drone Center’ during the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Sh Manohar Lal actively observed and controlled a drone flown at the Pradhan Mantri Mahila Kisan Drone Centre. Notably, the Chief Minister has been an early adopter of drone technology, employing it to achieve the Lal Dora-free status for villages.
Recognizing the potential of drone technology, Chief Minister Sh. Manohar Lal has established Drone Imaging Information of Haryana Limited (Drishya). At a recent High Power Purchase Committee meeting, the Chief Minister approved the purchase of 10 new drones, signaling a commitment to advancing technological capabilities. These drones will undergo testing by the newly formed company, which will also serve as a platform for training individuals in drone control.
During the state-level function of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in Fatehpur Balloch village, Faridabad, the Chief Minister, accompanied by Cabinet Ministers, listened to the live address of the Prime Minister. Expressing enthusiasm for the agricultural applications of drone technology, the Chief Minister highlighted its potential for state-of-the-art farming practices and said that usage of drones for spraying urea and pesticides not only enhance efficiency but also save both time and resources for farmers. This technological advancement is anticipated to be a boon for the agricultural community.
It is noteworthy that the Chief Minister has signed a MoU with Survey of India to prepare a digital map of the entire state. Satellite images of every inch of land are being prepared from Haryana Space Research Center (HRASK), Hisar, reflecting the Chief Minister's visionary approach toward revolutionizing the state's technological landscape.
