Chandigarh, September 22– Haryana is experiencing a surge in industrial investments, thanks to the proactive business friendly policies of the Manohar government. Today marked a significant milestone as Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal today laid the foundation stone for Flipkart's regional distribution centre in Manesar and virtually launched the Grocery Supply Center in Sonipat. These strategic moves are expected to intensify investor interest in Haryana while creating substantial employment opportunities for the youth.

Sh. Manohar Lal expressed his satisfaction, emphasizing the state's favorable environment for investors and industries. He highlighted Haryana's achievement of setting and reaching ambitious goals, positioning the state as an emerging manufacturing hub. The investment by Flipkart, he said, is a testament to the conducive atmosphere created for businesses in Haryana.
Flipkart's gigantic investment of Rs 1389 crore
The Chief Minister said that the Flipkart is making substantial investments in Haryana, including the establishment of a regional distribution centre in Manesar, covering 140 acres and involving an investment of Rs 1389 crore. This distribution centre is poised to become Asia's largest, creating direct and indirect employment opportunities for approximately 10,000 individuals. Moreover, Flipkart's grocery supply centre in Sonipat is set to generate around 2,000 direct and indirect job opportunities, shared the Chief Minister.
Global City to give a major push to Gurugram’s industrial sector
The Chief Minister said that Global City being developed in Gurugram district as a new chapter in the development of the area. The work of Global City, to be developed on about 1000 acres of land between NPR and CPR, is also progressing rapidly. There is a strong possibility of investment of Rs 1 lakh crore in this project. Due to which lakh of employment opportunities will be created not only in NCR but in the entire state. This will emerge a new picture of the area.
Haryana aims to contribute approximately Rs 14 lakh crore to the national GDP by 2024-25
Sharing the details about the economic growth ambitions of Haryana, the Chief Minister further asserted that the State has set ambitious targets, aiming to contribute approximately Rs 14 lakh crore to the national GDP by 2024-25. The state's investor-friendly policies and conducive business environment are driving this impressive growth, he added.
Sh. Manohar Lal underscored the importance of logistics and last-mile delivery in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of propelling India into a 5 trillion-dollar economy by 2024. The National Logistics Policy is hailed as a pivotal instrument in achieving this national goal.
Development of National Capital Region as Logistic Hub
Sh. Manohar Lal said that Haryana is strategically developing the National Capital Region as a robust warehousing and logistics hub. Multiple projects are underway to enhance logistics connectivity, including expressways, railways, and national highways.
Key projects, such as the Global Smart City and Mass Rapid Transit System in Gurugram, and the Integrated Multi-Modal Logistics Hub in Narnaul, spanning 886 acres and costing USD 700 million in partnership with the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor Project, are already in progress, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
Numerous projects started to enhance logistics connectivity
The Chief Minister said that numerous projects started to enhance logistics connectivity. Ongoing projects, including the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway, Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, Western Dedicated Freight Corridor of Railways, and Gurugram-Alwar road, are set to bolster logistics connectivity, he added.
Haryana has also received approval for the Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor, valued at about Rs 6000 crore, with land acquisition already underway. Additionally, 17 national highways are set to be constructed in Haryana, ensuring comprehensive connectivity by the end of 2024, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
Flipkart has made remarkable contribution in providing employment
The Chief Minister said that the Flipkart Group has emerged as a key player in Haryana's economic landscape, having created over 95,000 local jobs, fostered local manufacturing, and provided market access to numerous sellers through its extensive supply chain.
Haryana has taken several business-friendly initiatives
Sh. Manohar Lal said that Haryana remains committed to nurturing a progressive business ecosystem, offering financial incentives and implementing policies in line with the Haryana Enterprise and Employment Policy-2020. Notably, the state has adopted international standards by increasing the height of warehouses, he informed. He said that Trust, Transparency and Timeline are the three basic mantras for success, and main pillars for a flexible supply chain.
“These groundbreaking investments and initiatives exemplify Haryana's dedication to fostering industrial growth, job creation, and economic development, all in harmony with the broader national objectives,” said Sh. Manohar Lal.
Sh. Manohar Lal suggested to the e-commerce company Flipkart that today 5 lakh women are associated with 55,000 Self-Help Groups in Haryana. Include these Self-Help Group products in your chain. Along with this, farmers' products should also be delivered to consumers through FPOs. Similarly, include small shopkeepers also in your chain. If you take initiative in this work, Haryana Government will also support you in this, assured the Chief Minister.
