Chandigarh September 17- In a significant show of appreciation, Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal hailed Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi as the ‘Messiah of the Poor’ and commended his unwavering dedication to the welfare of underprivileged citizens.
The Chief Minister while addressing as the Chief Guest at the mega health camp organized at the M.M. Super-Speciality Hospital on the occasion of the birthday of the Prime Minister at Ambala today emphasized the Prime Minister's multi-faceted approach, which encompassed health, housing, education, employment, and more, resulting in substantial benefits for those at the bottom of the Socio-economic pyramid.
Sh. Manohar Lal said that in the past, the slogan 'Garibi Hatao' was used to gain votes, but it did not lead to concrete actions to alleviate poverty. The Chief Minister highlighted the Prime Minister's holistic strategy, which covered areas such as healthcare, housing, education, employment, and more. He said that this approach of the Prime Minister yielded significant advantages for individuals situated at the lower end of the socio-economic spectrum. The Haryana Government is also working in the spirit of Antyodaya through Parivar Pehchan Patra, said the Chief Minister.
Mega Health Camp aims to provide comprehensive health checkups to between 8,000 and 10,000 individuals
The Chief Minister said that the mega health camp provided comprehensive health checkups to between 8,000 and 10,000 individuals. A dedicated team of 700 to 800 medical professionals and doctors conducted these vital checkups. The Chief Minister highlighted the significance of early disease detection, a cornerstone of public health. He appealed to the citizens to embrace a healthy lifestyle while underscoring the importance of making conscious dietary choices and integrating regular yoga into daily routines, promoting overall well-being.
The Chief Minister also shared details of government healthcare initiatives taken by the government. He acknowledged Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi's Ayushman Bharat Yojana, which provides accessible healthcare for economically disadvantaged individuals.
“The Haryana Government has expanded on this initiative with the Chirayu Haryana Scheme, offering free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh to families earning up to Rs 1.80 lakh annually. Additional measures include health insurance for families with incomes between Rs 1.80 lakh and Rs 3 lakh,” asserted Sh. Manohar Lal.
Several steps are taken to expand Medical facilities
Sh. Manohar Lal further highlighted the government's dedication to enhancing healthcare infrastructure including the establishment of more medical colleges to bolster the number of healthcare professionals and delivering healthcare services at district and block levels. The government is also actively working on wellness centres at the village level to ensure equitable access to healthcare, shared the Chief Minister.
Nirogi Haryana scheme is a visionary initiative aimed at providing health checkups to every citizen
The Chief Minister said that with the introduction of the Nirogi Haryana Scheme, a visionary initiative has been taken aimed at providing health checkups to every citizen in the state once every two years. Remarkably, 40 lakh individuals have already undergone these health assessments, he shared.
The Chief Minister has urged the private hospitals and laboratories to collaborate with the government in this ambitious endeavour to ensure all citizens receive these essential health checkups within the next one and a half years.
Chairman, Haryana Public Enterprises Bureau, Sh. Subhash Barala, Ambala City MLA, Sh. Aseem Goyal, Chairman, M.M. Trust and Chancellor, Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Sh. Tarsem Garg, Ambala Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Shaleen and other officers also remained present on this occasion.
