Chandigarh, August 16- The unique initiative started by the Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal to hold meetings with the people’s representatives and eminent citizens from different assembly Lok Sabha constituency has become a big hit among the people and the leaders.
Chief Minister held discussions with public representatives and citizens of the Sirsa Lok Sabha constituency at Sant Kabir Kutir, Chandigarh. He said that the representatives here can communicate their region's public issues and demands to officials and provide information about ongoing development projects. So far, 16,000 reports have been registered, with 2,600 tasks already completed. Such a mechanism has been made to help people understand the government's functioning at the grassroots level.
He mentioned that the focus is on transparent governance and accelerated development. He aims to organize such interactive meetings at least twice a year and review actions taken on the previous meetings' agendas.
So far the Chief Minister has covered all the 10 Lok Sabha constituencies, in which Sirsa was the 10th Lok Sabha constituency on 16 August 2023. In this way, the grievances related to 90 assembly constituencies have been heard by the higher officials.
12.50 lakh new BPL cards have been made
The Chief Minister also highlighted the progress in online systems across various departments. Automatic pension schemes have been implemented for those aged 60 or above, reducing paperwork and making the process more efficient. About 12.50 lakh new Below Poverty Line (BPL) cards have been generated through the automated system. The positive response from the public regarding this system has been evident in the Jan Samvad programmes.
