Chandigarh, June 20- Union Road Transport and Highways Minister, Sh Nitin Gadkari praised Haryana Chief Minister, Sh Manohar Lal for transforming Haryana by working honestly in the last eight-and-a-half years and assured all support and cooperation of his Ministry to the State Government for realizing Prime Minister, Sh Narendra Modi's vision of making India self-reliant.
Sh Nitin Gadkari was addressing the “Gauravshali Bharat Rally” organised on the completion of nine years of the Central Government, at Sonipat today. On this occasion, he inaugurated 11 flyovers on the eight-lane National Highway from Delhi to Panipat constructed at a cost of Rs 890 crores, including 6 lanes of service roads on both sides.
Conceding the demand of Chief Minister Sh Manohar Lal, Sh Nitin Gadkari announced to give Rs 300 crore under the Setu Bharatam Yojana for the construction of ROB and RUB to make Haryana free of railway level crossings. Similarly, on the demand of MLA Jind Dr. Krishna Middha, Sh Gadkari also announced the construction of a bypass from Narwana Road to Rohtak Road and a Ring Road from Jind to Ikkas.
Work will be done on projects worth Rs 2 lakh crore in Haryana by December 2024, Haryana's roads will be developed at par with America
Sh Nitin Gadkari said that his Ministry is working on 100 projects in Haryana which are expected to be completed by December 2024. Out of these, 51 projects of 2200 km worth Rs 47,000 crore have been completed whereas, 30 projects of 830 km worth Rs 35,000 crore are in progress. He said that among 19 other projects of 756 km worth Rs 20,000 crores, a detailed project report of 14 projects is being prepared.
He assured the Chief Minister that works on projects involving an investment of Rs 2 lakh crore would be carried out in Haryana by December 2024. These projects would change the image of Haryana and the roads of the State would be developed at par with America.
He reminded that when he was holding the charge of Union Water Resources Minister, Chief Minister Sh Manohar Lal had demanded that farmers should be paid remunerative prices for their produce and also adequate water be given to the fields. At that time there were water disputes in Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Himachal, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi that were hanging fire for the last 40 years. Sh Gadkari said that to settle most of the disputes, projects of Uttarakhand and Himachal were cleared so that Haryana could get its share of water.
10 years of development overshadow 60 years
Sh Nitin Gadkari said that the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi, in the last nine years, has done work two times than what Congress could not do in 60 years. He said that 30 crore people in the country are getting the benefit of Ayushman Bharat Yojana. Apart from this, 10 crore gas connections have been given under the PM Ujjwala Yojana. Under the Jan Dhan Yojana, 49 crore bank accounts of the poor have been opened. Also, 12 crore toilets have been constructed under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, financial assistance is being given to 11 crore farmers. Similarly, houses were built and given to 3 crore people under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. He said that about 30 crore people have been covered under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and 14 crore people under Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana. In addition, 12 crore water connections were given under the Smart City Mission.
Sh Gadkari said that under the leadership of Prime Minister, Sh Narendra Modi, the Central Government has provided various benefits to about 100 crore people of the country through 32 schemes. The Government is working for the welfare of every section of the society be it the poor, laborers and farmers.
E-rickshaw made life easier for one crore people
The Union Minister said that providing an e-rickshaw to about one crore rickshaw pullers in the country is one of the revolutionary steps of the present Government at the Centre. “I am confident that under the leadership of Sh Narendra Modi, we will be successful in creating a self-reliant India, a happy, prosperous, powerful India and providing employment to the youth of the country”, said Sh Gadkari.
On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister, Sh Dushyant Chautala, MP Sh. Ramesh Kaushik, MLA namely Sh. Mohan Lal Badoli and Smt Nirmal Chowdhary, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda, Sh. Krishna Middha and other dignitaries were also present.
