Chandigarh, June 16 – Under the leadership of Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal, the Haryana government is making strenuous efforts to make the youth educated as well as employable through ensuring industrial based education in the institutions across the states.
In this direction, training is being provided in ITIs as per industrial needs under Dual Training System (DST) in order to make youth employment ready. Dual System of Training (DST) is a game-changing initiative, which follows a model created by the industry for the industry. Under this system, industries partner with ITIs to provide modern training to ITI trainees and make them industry ready.
Youth will be able to learn practical knowledge from on-job-training in industrial establishments
An official spokesperson said that agreements have been made by the state government with various industrial establishments of the state to provide training in different trades under the dual training system.
Trainees enrolled in these business units will be given training under a dual training system, in which 3-6 months duration training for one year courses and 6 to 12 months duration training for two year courses will be provided in the institute. After this, on-the-job-training will be conducted in the concerned industrial establishment during the remaining period of the course.
The spokesperson said that DST is available in more than 40 trades in more than 65 government ITIs in the state. For this, more than 5000 seats are available for admission under the DST system. In addition, on-the-job-training on modern machines will be provided under DST in more than 200 industries.
To make the youth skilled, the government is making a comprehensive framework for skill training
The spokesperson said that as per the instructions of the Chief Minister, the state government is also preparing a comprehensive framework for skill training to make the youth skilled along with educational qualification.
He informed that apart from general training, special courses are also being prepared to give them skill training according to the job role, through the Foreign Cooperation Department, to provide employment opportunities to the youth abroad. The syllabus of these courses will be prepared by Shri Vishwakarma Skill University and certificates will be issued by the university itself.
