Chandigarh, May 15: In a major announcement, Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the secondary schools in the villages which had 100 students in classes 9th and 10th last year, would be upgraded to senior secondary schools. With this announcement, 137 schools across the state have been upgraded with immediate effect.
The Chief Minister made this announcement today during his three-day tour of Sirsa district, while addressing a Jan Samvad programme at Bani village in Rania assembly constituency.
Sh. Manohar Lal said that the state government has decided to make provision of a senior secondary school within a radius of 5 kilometres in a bid to provide relief to the students from travelling long distances for education.
Talking about the Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP), the Chief Minister said that the families will get the benefits of all government schemes through PPP, while gram panchayats will also get grants according to their population.
Meanwhile, on the demand of the citizens regarding bus service, the Chief Minister flagged off a bus from Bani village to Kalanwali.
Demand for recruitment of PGT Punjabi teachers will be sent to commission by June 30
On the request of the candidates for the recruitment of PGT Punjabi teachers, the Chief Minister said that a demand for the recruitment would be sent by the department to the Commission by June 30 and the recruitment process would start soon.
Meanwhile, on the demand of the people of Bhambhoor Gram Panchayat to upgrade the middle school to high school, the Chief Minister said that the government will consider upgrading it; if the school will meet the criteria for it.
Amount of Rs 80,000 approved for repair of house under Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Awas Navinikarn Yojna
On the problem of a local, Krishna Devi, about roof collapse of her house, the Chief Minister sanctioned an amount of Rs 80,000 under Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Awas Navinikarn Yojna. Apart from this, the Chief Minister also asked the woman to apply for housing in the second phase of Pradhan Mantri Jan Awas Yojana.
Bus service from Sirsa to Hanumangarh and Sirsa to Sangaria will start from today.
On the demand of the people to ply buses on Sirsa-Bani-Hanumangarh and Sirsa-Bani-Sangaria routes, the Chief Minister immediately directed the General Manager, Haryana Roadways to start the bus facility on these routes from today only.
Merit based jobs, without ‘parchi-kharchi
During the programme, a youth appreciated the merit based system of providing jobs by the present state government. He said that during the tenure of Congress government, a broker had demanded Rs 7 lakh from him for a government job, but he did not give. However, during the tenure of the present government, jobs are being given on the basis of merit, without ‘parchi-kharchi’, he added.
Target of providing 1 lakh solar tubewell connections
Expressing gratitude to the Chief Minister, the people of the village said that the work done by the state government to provide solar tubewell connections is commendable.
On this, the Chief Minister said that the government has set a target of providing 1 lakh solar tubewell connections. So far, 60,000 solar tubewell connections have been given and now 40,000 more connections will be given, he added.
Meanwhile, on the complaint of the sarpanch of Sadewala village about the encroachment of 60 acres of Panchayat land by private persons, the Chief Minister directed the police officers to investigate the matter and take appropriate action. He also directed the District Development and Panchayat Officer to get back the possession of the land as per rules.
Also, on the demand of expansion of Naiwala Kharif channel from burji no. 98,000 to 1,29,000, the Chief Minister said that the state government is reviewing the amount of water coming in the Ghaggar; so that water can be distributed properly in the channels and the dark zone will be given first priority. An action plan will be prepared for this soon, he added.
On the occasion, Energy Minister, Sh. Ranjit Singh, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. V Umashankar, OSD to Chief Minister, Sh. Jawahar Yadav, former MLAs, Dr. Pawan Saini, Sh. Ram Chander Kamboj and other officials were present.
