Chandigarh May 9: Haryana Government has today made an amendment in Haryana Civil Services (Allowances to Government Employess), Rules, 2016.

This amendment has been made in the Haryana Cabinet, which met under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal here today.

As per the amendment in Haryana Civil Services (Allowances to Government Employees), Rules, 2016, in rule 14 for sub-rule (3), the following sub-rule shall be substituted namely- the rates of House Rent Allowance shall be as per notification issued by the Finance Department from time to time except for the period from January 1, 2016 to July 31, 2019, which shall be regulated as the respective amount of House rent Allowance drawn by the Government employees for the period from  January 1, 2016, to  October 27, 2016 shall remain the same as already drawn under existing (pre-revised) pay structure.

The respective amount of House rent Allowance being drawn by the Government employees as on   October 27, 2016, shall remain payable invariably for the period between the 28th October 2016 to the 31st July, 2019 i.e. House rent Allowance shall be drawn on the presumptive basic pay of the pre-revised pay scale.

The employees who have joined the Government service as a fresh recruit at the first instance during the period the January 1, 2016 and between July 31, 2019 shall be entitled to the House rent Allowance to be calculated at the presumptive entry-level pay of the pre-revised pay structure admissible under the Haryana Civil Services (Pay) Rules, 2008.

Besides this, Rule 4 and Rule 8 of Haryana Civil Services (Allowances to Government Employees) have also been amended.
