Chandigarh, May 9- Haryana Cabinet which met under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal here today accorded approval to a proposal regarding Amendments in Haryana Development and Panchayats Department (Group-C) Field Offices Service Rules, 2012 consequent upon the creation of new posts of Gram Sachiv - II and Mahagram Sachiv having improved qualifications & Pay Scale.
There were 2237 posts of Gram Sachiv which were filled up by direct recruitment as per The Haryana Development & Panchayats Department (Group - C) Field Offices Service, Rules 2012. The prescribed qualification for the post of Gram Sachiv was graduation in any discipline as per the amended rules of 2019.
The State Government has decided to restructure the existing cadre of Gram Sachiv by creating 2250 more posts having nomenclature as Gram Sachiv-II, educational qualifications of Graduation in any discipline with knowledge of computer increasing the total cadre strength to 4487. Besides, 125 posts of Mahagram Sachiv meant for Mahagrams, have also been created.
The nomenclature of the existing Gram Sachivs has been changed as Gram Sachiv- I.
These amendments mainly include items like insertion of newly created cadres of Gram Sachiv- II and Mahagram Sachiv, change of nomenclature of the existing cadre of Gram Sachiv to Gram Sachiv-I, insertion of revised educational qualification for the post of Gram Sachiv - II as Graduation in any discipline with knowledge of computer.
With these amendments, number of Gram Panchayats entrusted to a Gram Sachiv would reduce leading to efficiency in the working of Panchayats.
