Chandigarh, May 4: Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that in the last eight-and-a-half-years, keeping in mind the interests of every section of the state, the state government has launched several developmental projects and public welfare schemes, benefits of which are directly being availed by the people. Also, the Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) has proved to be an important document in catching irregularities and some foreign countries including five-six states of the country have also shown interest in studying it, he said.
The Chief Minister was addressing the people at the inauguration of BJP's newly constructed office ‘Karna Kamal’ in Karnal’s Sector 9 on Thursday. He said that on the basis of a survey done through Parivar Pehchan Patra, 12.50 lakh new BPL ration cards have been made in the state. Similarly, as a result of increasing the annual income limit of Rs 1.20 lakh to Rs 1.80 lakh by the central government, 7 lakh people have got their treatment done free of cost under Ayushman card and CHIRAYU Haryana Yojana; on which an amount of Rs 950 crore has been spent by the government.
He said that today the BJP has become the largest democratic party in the world whose number of active members is more than the total population of many countries. "That's why the party workers should take the policies and schemes of the government to the masses so that the people can get the benefits of these schemes,” he added.
The Chief Minister said that the workers are very important for the smooth running and strengthening of the party. He said that to take feedback of development works and government schemes from the people, Jan Samvad programmes have been started across the state and so far, the programmes have been organized in Bhiwani, Palwal and Kurukshetra districts.
He said that implementation of the e-tendering system in Panchayati Raj institutions will give long-term benefits with transparency in works and it has also garnered appreciation from the public. On the occasion, former minister and BJP state president, Sh. OP Dhankhar, Gharaunda MLA, Sh. Harvinder Kalyan and district president, Sh. Yogender Rana were also present.
