Chandigarh, May 3: Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal, made a major announcement during the Jan Samvad programme at Kurukshetra’s Thana village, on the complaint of an elderly woman about non-stopping of buses in the village. He said that at least 8 buses of Pehowa and Kurukshetra depot would have a stop in the village and for the convenience of the citizens, the timings of the buses will be pasted at the bus stops.

The Chief Minister directed the Roadways General Manager, Kurukshetra to prepare a 12-hour route chart for the buses of Kaithal and Pehowa depots and instruct the drivers and conductors to stop the buses on the fixed routes of Thana village.

During the Jan Samvad programme, Karambir, a resident of Thana village, apprised the Chief Minister that he had got treatment done under the Ayushman Yojana in a private hospital in Pehowa; but the hospital charged Rs 20,000 for the treatment.

Similarly, a girl from the village also complained to the Chief Minister about the same private hospital, stating that her mother had undergone treatment from the hospital and despite being a beneficiary of the Ayushman Yojana, an amount of Rs 25,000 was charged from them. On this, the Chief Minister ordered the Civil Surgeon, Kurukshetra to investigate the entire matter and take appropriate action.

Development works worth Rs 4 crore being done in Thana village

Sh. Manohar Lal said that development works are being done in Thana village under different schemes with an amount of Rs 4 crore. He said that Ayushman cards have been made for 2,849 beneficiaries under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana in the village. Out of these, 577 beneficiaries have availed the benefits by getting treatment worth Rs 66.44 lakh.

“The state government has kept a budget of Rs 1.83 lakh crore for the development of the state this year. With the spirit of ‘Haryana Ek-Haryanvi Ek’, the government is ensuring uniform development in every assembly constituency without any discrimination,” he added.

Meanwhile, 15 sarpanches of nearby villages placed the problems of their respective gram panchayats during the programme. The Chief Minister assured to resolve these problems. On the occasion, Minister of State for Printing and Stationery, S. Sandeep Singh and other dignitaries were present.
