Chandigarh, April 23 - Haryana Government today celebrated the birth anniversary of Saint Shri Dhanna Bhagat ji with great pomp in Kaithal. Vice President of India, Sh. Jagdeep Dhankhar along with his wife, Smt. Sudesh Dhankhar attended the state level function organized at Dhanori village in Kaithal district as Chief Guest.
On this occasion, Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal announced that the medical college being built at Haibatpur in Jind would be named after Sant Shiromani Shri Dhanna Bhagat ji. Besides this, he also announced to build a women college in village Dhanori, supply drinking water to the village through Bhakra Canal and to make arrangements for sewerage and drainage of dirty water.
Sh. Manohar Lal said that life history of Dhanna Bhagat ji will be mentioned in textbooks so that the youth can take inspiration from teachings and message
Meanwhile, apart from construction of a building, a community centre and library in the village, the Chief Minister also announced Rs 7 crore for the development of the village. He also announced to give Rs 21 lakh for Dhanori's Gaushala.
The Chief Minister said that a statue of Sant Shiromani Shri Dhanna Bhagat ji would be installed in Dhanori village. Besides this, construction of langar hall in Sant Shri Dhanna Bhagat Ji temple and beautification and renovation of the pond in the village will also be done by the State Government.
Sant Shiromani Shri Dhanna Bhagat Ji played an important role in removing the social evils
Saluting Sant Shiromani Dhanna ji, the Chief Minister said that he is fortunate that today he has got the opportunity to attend the birth anniversary celebrations of Dhanna Bhagat ji.
He said that Sant Shiromani Dhanna Bhagat ji was one of the great saints who played an important role in eradicating the social evils prevailing in the society through his writings.
Adopting the path of Bhakti, along with service to mankind, he laid emphasis on Karma in the same way as Lord Krishna has given the immortal message of Karma in Gita, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
The Chief Minister said that Sant Shiromani Dhanna Bhagat ji strongly opposed the caste system. He was the guide of the whole mankind. Sant Shri Dhanna Bhagat used to be kind, philanthropic and had the company of sages and saints since childhood. Many miraculous stories are associated with his life. The teachings given by Shri Dhanna Bhagat ji for human welfare are very relevant even today, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
The Chief Minister said that there are many institutions across the country in the name of Sant Shiromani Shri Dhanna Bhagat ji, that are motivating new generations to adopt his devotion and teachings.
"We are proud that Shri Dhanna Bhagat Public School is constructed in Dharmakshetra Kurukshetra in Haryana after his name. On April 11, I got an opportunity to unveil the statue of Shri Dhanna Bhagat ji in the school premises," said Sh. Manohar Lal.
The Chief Minister said that according to the teachings of Sant Shiromani Shri Dhanna Bhagat ji, the present State Government is working for the welfare and upliftment of entire Haryana with the spirit of Haryana Ek Haryanvi Ek.
Haryana government formulated a special scheme to propagate the teachings of saints and great men among the masses
The Chief Minister said that saints and great men are our priceless heritage. The teachings of such great personalities are the heritage of the entire human society. It is our responsibility to preserve and protect his legacy. For this, the Haryana government is working to spread the message of saints and great men to the masses under the Sant-Mahapurusha Vichar Samman Evam Prasar Yojana. Today's birth anniversary celebration is being organized as a part of this scheme only, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign improved gender ratio in Haryana
Sh. Manohar Lal said that gone are the days when Haryana was infamous for female foeticide as due to the vision shared by the Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi as he launched the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign, and the state government's devoted steps to realise this vision the gender ratio in Haryana has increased from 923 to 851 in the year 2014.
"I am happy that in this campaign the people and women of the rural areas have taken a pledge to start worshipping wells in the name of daughters also", said Sh. Manohar Lal.
The Chief Minister said that while paying special attention to women's education, in the last 8 years, as many as 71 colleges have been opened, out of which 42 are exclusively for women. He said that according to the teachings of Sant Shiromani Shri Dhanna Bhagat ji for the welfare of the poor, the state government has launched Parivar Pehchan Patra.
PPP aims to serve the poor families in Haryana. 12.5 lakh new ration cards have been made through PPP. Apart from this, people are being given free treatment facilities up to 5 lakh under Ayushman and Chirayu Haryana schemes for the health care of the needy, shared the Chief Minister.
He said that the present government is continuously doing the work of public service by staying in politics. Although the opposition also criticises a lot, it is our dharma to serve the people.
The Chief Minister said that saints and great men never belong to any one religion or community, rather their teachings are relevant for the entire society. The present State Government has ensured equitable development of the entire state by following the basic mantra of Haryana Ek Haryanvi Ek, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
On this occasion, Chairman, Haryana Public Enterprises Bureau, Sh. Subhash Barala, BJP State President, Sh. OP Dhankar and other dignitaries and saints also remained present.
