Chandigarh, January 29: Conducting a surprise inspection of various ongoing development projects in Rohtak today, Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal issued necessary guidelines to the officers after receiving progress reports. He said that the state government is committed to provide better basic facilities to the common man.
The Chief Minister said that Rs 45 crore has been sanctioned for new projects related to drainage, repair and renovation. He also reached Guru Nanak Pura road and inspected the place where a new disposal for rainwater is to be constructed. The Chief Minister received a detailed report from the officials in this regard. He said that an estimated cost of Rs 26.15 crore will be incurred on the construction of this disposal. A 900 mm HDPE pipeline will be laid from disposal to Chamaria drain.
In this regard, Deputy Commissioner, Sh. Yash Pal apprised the Chief Minister that a tender has been opened on January 24 for the construction of the disposal and the work will be allotted to the concerned agency in about a month. He said that the project would be completed in 18 months. With the construction of this disposal, about half a dozen colonies including Mahavir Colony, Sanjay Nagar, New Chamanpura, Krishna Colony and Sai Das Colony, will be benefitted.
Later, Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal inspected the shops being constructed by the Municipal Corporation on the Rohtak-Hisar road near the old vegetable market. It is a project for widening of Hisar Road from Indira Market to Sabzi Mandi turn. Under this project, the shops are being demolished and reconstructed. The work of constructing 73 shops on the Rohtak-Hisar road is in progress. Similarly, 108 shops on Sabzi Mandi road will be reconstructed to widen the road
The work of constructing 73 shops will be completed in March this year, while 108 shops will be ready by July. Under the project, a drain will be made in front of these shops and the road will be widened.
Chief Minister also visits historic Gau Karan Tirath
Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal also visited the historic Gau Karan Tirath in Rohtak and paid obeisance. During this, former minister, Manish Kumar Grover, Mayor, Manmohan Goyal, ADGP, Mamta Singh, Deputy Commissioner, Yash Pal, Municipal Commissioner, Dhirendra Khadgata and Superintendent of Police, Udai Singh Meena were present.
