Chandigarh, January 29: Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal on Sunday listened to Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme at PWD Rest House in Rai during his visit to Sonipat. During the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme, the Prime Minister, while motivating the farmers to promote the cultivation of millet, said that at present, various types of dishes are being prepared by the people of India from millets; which are becoming famous in other countries too.
By doing this, the economic condition of the farmers associated with millet cultivation is getting stronger. He further said that dishes made of millet are being prepared for the guests coming to the G-20 Summit to be held in the country this year.
The Prime Minister said that this year the Union government has given Padma Shri awards to those, who have introduced the life of the people associated with tribal communities to other people of the country. Apart from this, the Padma Shri award has also been given to such great personalities, who have inspired the Naxalites; showing them the right path. He said that the society should take inspiration from the lives of such heroes to do good deeds.
The Prime Minister said that India is the largest democratic country in the world. A book titled ‘India - the Mother of Democracy’ has been written on this, which highlights the history and culture of our democracy. He called upon the countrymen to must read this book and also motivate others to read it. Apart from this, we should disseminate this book so that the people of other countries can also be made aware about the prosperous democracy of India, he said.
During this, Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the state government is making the farmers aware and motivating them to promote millets and natural farming; so that the farmers become financially strong. He called upon the farmers to go in for natural and millet cultivation in future; for maintaining the health of our future generations and to build a healthy India.
On the occasion, Sonipat MP Sh. Ramesh Kaushik and Rai MLA, Sh. Mohan Lal Badoli were also present.
