Chandigarh, January 21- Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the Commission's primary responsibility is to develop new systems in accordance with societal demands. The government will thus work to adopt any recommendations the panel makes that are in the best interests of the society.

The Chief Minister was addressing at the felicitation function organized by the delegation of SC community on formation of the Scheduled Caste Commission here today. Rajya Sabha MP, Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar, Public Health Engineering (Independent Charge) Minister,  Dr. Banwari Lal, MLA Pataudi, Sh. Satya Prakash Jaravata, MLA, Bawani khera, Sh. Bishamber Singh, Chairman SC Commission, Sh. Ravindra Baliyala, Political Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. Krishan Bedi, Vice Chairman of the Commission, Sh. Vijender Badgujjar and many dignitaries were present.

The Chief Minister said that the Scheduled Castes Commission has been constituted in Haryana to safeguard and strengthen the rights of the Scheduled Castes. In this, efforts have been made to make members from all SC caste sections of Haryana. He said that the main objective of the commission is to create better coordination between the government and the public.

Apart from this, people should maintain good coordination with the commission. Since the commission's duties include using government systems for the benefit of society including developing new systems to meet the requirements of society. He said that the commission should have detailed information about the people of the society i.e  residence, family, street, locality, city so that the help can be ensured by the commission in case of any issue.
 
The Chief Minister said that the government has decided to celebrate the birth anniversaries of saints and great men under Sant Mahapurush Samman Evam Vichar Prachar Prasar Yojana. Under this, by celebrating the anniversaries of Maharishi Valmiki, 400th Prakash Utsav of Guru Tegh Bahadur, Sant Kabir Das, Dr. BR Ambedkar, Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, Maharishi Kashyap, Maharaja Shoor Saini Jayanti etc. the government is making strenuous efforts to promote their teachings to the masses.

The Chief Minister said that great men do not belong to any caste or class, but their thoughts are a source of inspiration for the entire society. In this series, Sant Ravidas Jayanti will be celebrated at the state level in Gurgaon, Narwana and Yamunanagar on February 3, 2023. In honour of these revered great men, he urged every section of society to actively engage in such programmes.
