Chandigarh, December 2 - Haryana Chief Minister said that International Gita Mahotsav (IGM)-2022 has left its indelible mark on the world stage. Now tourists will get a glimpse of the Lilas of Lord Krishna with the message of Karma he preached at Gita Sthali Kurukshetra.
“Krishna Utsav will be celebrated on similar lines to Gita Mahotsav at Karmayogi Dhara. Cooperation of all the social and religious organizations of the city will also be taken to celebrate this holy festival,” said Sh. Manohar Lal.
He said that over the years, the IGM has gained immense popularity across the globe. It was in the year 2016 when Haryana for the first time had successfully organized IGM. Since then, gradually this holy festival of Bhagavad Gita has been successfully celebrated on foreign soil too. Now continuing the same tradition, the IGM- 2023 would be celebrated in Australia.
Earlier IGM has been successfully celebrated in Mauritius, London and Canada. In Canada, a park has been named after the holy Bhagavad Gita. Seeing the enthusiasm of the tourists visiting IGM-2022, the government has decided to make an arrangement for the visitors so that they can get a glimpse of the ‘Lilas’ of Lord Krishna in an attractive manner in Kurukshetra.
The Chief Minister said that Lord Krishna has a special relation with Haryana as Lord Krishna preached the Gita to Arjuna in Kurukshetra. Krishna Utsav will be celebrated on the lines of Geeta Mahotsav, in which glimpses of Lord Shri Krishna's childhood will be shown. Krishna Avatar and his Rasleela and musical art will be displayed through tableaux during the Mahotsav. Through this holy festival, people will get a chance to see the real aspects of Lord Shri Krishna's life closely and will be able to imbibe the ideals of Lord Shri Krishna in their lives.
Preserved the cultural and mythological heritage
The Chief Minister said that along with infrastructural development, the State Government has preserved cultural and mythological heritage. While moving forward in this direction Kurukshetra is being developed as per Swadesh Darshan Yojana and Krishna Circuit. The teachings of Gita have been included in the school curriculum.
“We are constantly trying to ensure that the life values of our great culture reach the new and young generation,” added Sh. Manohar Lal.
The Chief Minister said that the State Government needs maximum social and public participation in such events as this will increase the grandeur and divinity of the programme. The government in the form of such programmes, takes initiative to create good values, a sense of righteousness and a better environment in society, but these can be taken forward only with the contribution of the society.
