Chandigarh, December 1- Haryana Cabinet which met under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal here today accorded approval to a proposal regarding Amendment in Section 3D of the Haryana Legislative Assembly (Salary, Allowances and Pension of Members) Act, 1975 with regards to Secretarial Allowance and Driver allowance be directly credited to the account of a person, so notified by the Members of Legislative Assembly.

As per the amendment after section 3D of the principal Act, new section 3E shall be inserted under which a member shall be entitled to driver allowance at the rate of Rs. 20,000 per month which the Haryana Vidhan Sabha Secretariat may pay to the person to be notified by the Member to the Haryana Vidhan Sabha Secretariat to work as his/her Driver. Provided that the persons so notified by the member shall continue to render assistance to the member at the member's pleasure.

Also after the amendment, now any member entitled to secretarial allowance will get Rs. 20,000 per mensem provided that the person so notified by the member shall continue to render assistance to the member at the member's pleasure. Meanwhile, presently a member is entitled to secretarial allowance at the rate of Rs.15000 per mensem, which the Haryana Vidhan Sabha Secretariat may pay to the person to be notified by the member to the Secretariat to work as his/her Secretary.
