Chandigarh, November 26 – Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that newly elected Sarpanchs and Panchs will now be administered the oath by the officials after holding a Gram Sabha meeting in the village itself.
This new initiative has been taken under Vyavastha Parivartan. Earlier, all the sarpanches and panches gathered at one place and were administered oath, said Sh. Manohar Lal today during a meeting with the newly elected Sarpanch and Panchs of the Gram Panchayat belonging to the Karnal assembly constituency.
The Sarpanch and the Panches welcomed the Chief Minister by presenting him with bouquets and sought his guidance.
Sh. Manohar Lal told the newly- elected Sarpanchs and Panchs to make new schemes for rural development and perform their duties with utmost honesty. There will be no shortage of funds from the government for the development works of any village, he added.
He said that Gram Panchayat is the smallest unit of governance and it acts as an independent government of the villages. That's why all the newly elected Sarpanch and Panch should jointly take forward the rural development. Complete cooperation will be given to them by the government, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
He said that now the election process is over, Sarpanch and Panch should get the necessary works related to the basic needs of the village completed on priority basis by taking cooperation of all the villagers.

The Chief Minister said that this time in the elections of Panchayati Raj Institutions, the villagers have started a good tradition by unanimously electing the block samiti members, sarpanch and panch and the entire village panchayats. Due to this mutual brotherhood has boosted. Not only this, Sarpanch, Panch elected unanimously will get an incentive amount ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs. 11 lakh as a reward for the development of the village from the Haryana Government.
Mayor Smt. Renu Bala Gupta, Deputy Commissioner, Sh. Anish Yadav, Superintendent of Police, Sh. Ganga Ram Punia and CEO, Zilla Parishad, Sh. Gaurav Kumar remained present on this occasion.
