Chandigarh, June 8 – Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the rural area roads adjoining cities will soon be upgraded to four-lane so that the movement of traffic becomes more convenient.
Sh. Manohar Lal said this while presiding over a review meeting of projects worth over Rs 100 crore of various departments held here today. He reviewed 37 projects worth Rs 8256 crore being executed by six Departments.
While giving necessary directions to the officers, the Chief Minister said that a separate portal should be developed and the departments should upload all the necessary details on it as soon as the works of the big projects are completed.
The Chief Minister said that the roads leading to cities as well as villages up to 10 kms would be upgraded to four lanes. Along with this, welcome gates will be built on them and saplings will also be planted so as to ensure consistent beautification around the cities across the state as well as rejuvenation of the outer areas.
Smart meter scheme should be promoted
The Chief Minister directed the officials of the Power Corporation to expedite the installation of smart meters of electricity. In order to provide the benefit of this scheme to the citizens, wide publicity of the 5 percent rebate being given to the consumers should be ensured. Under this scheme, 10 lakh smart meters are being installed in the state, said Sh. Manohar Lal. He said that work should be done more actively in this direction and consumers should be made aware of the benefits of smart meters.
Widening of roads
In the meeting, the departmental officers apprised the Chief Minister that the work of Rai Malikpur to Kharak corridor is almost complete and will be dedicated to the public soon. Besides this, the work of four laning of NH 21A Pinjore bypass has also been completed. The work on the railway under bridge to be built on it will also be completed in the next 6 months.
The Chief Minister was further apprised that the work of the bridge to be built on the Faridabad-Greater Noida road will be completed by the end of August and the tender for the road will be floated soon. The work of upgrading the Mahendragarh Narnaul road into a four-lane road will also be completed soon. An additional two-lane bridge is also being built on this road at Mahendragarh.
The Chief Minister directed the officers concerned to complete the land acquisition process at the earliest for Mirzapur road connecting NH 09 to NH 52 in Hisar. He said that for works like roads, drains, etc. acquisition of land should be done on similar lines as that of NH so as to ensure smooth execution of the project work.
Hisar Airport will be expanded
The Chief Minister was apprised that the work of Hisar Airport would be completed by the end of July. In the second phase of the airport, additional works like the runway, boundary wall, cargo deck, blast pad, and isolation bay at a cost of Rs 185 crore will be completed as soon as permission is given.
Every district to have a Medical College
The Chief Minister said that the government has a plan to open medical colleges in every district. Medical colleges are being built in many districts. He said that as soon as the construction work of these medical colleges is completed, 3000 students will be admitted for MBBS. He said that OPD should be started before the completion of the construction work of the academy building to be built on the premises of Medical College to be built in Jind.
Work of Shaheedi Smarak to be completed soon
The Chief Minister said that the construction work of the Shaheedi Smarak to be built at Ambala would be completed soon. Besides this, Bye-laws for the Smarak have also been formulated. A committee has been constituted for this. In this Shaheedi Smarak, the spectators will get a glimpse of the beginning of the revolution of 1857 to modern Haryana, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
‘Tower of Justice’ being built in Gurugram
The Chief Minister while reviewing the meeting said that a new judicial complex is being built in Gurugram at a cost of Rs 133 crore. This modern ‘Tower of Justice’ will be completed by the month of December. In addition, 576 multistorey houses are being built by the Police Housing Department. Both the projects will be completed by the month of July.
All the police stations and posts to have CCTV cameras
The Chief Minister said that CCTV cameras would be installed in 381 police stations and all police posts across the State and for this required formalities are being completed by the Police Department. The installation of CCTV cameras will bring more transparency to the functioning of police stations, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. D.S Dhesi, Additional Chief Secretary and Financial Commissioner, Revenue and Disaster Management and Consolidation Departments, Sh. PK Das, Additional Chief Secretary, Finance, Sh. T.V.S.N Prasad, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. V Umashankar, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Dr. Amit Agrawal, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister-II, Smt. Ashima Brar and other senior officers also remained present during the meeting.
