Chandigarh, March 22: Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the Ballabhgarh Kalpana Chawla City Park is still in the possession of Faridabad Municipal Corporation only.
The park developed on this land is being used by the general public. However, the matter of disputed land is sub-judice in the court, he added.
The Chief Minister said this while responding to questions raised by MLAs Sh. Neeraj Sharma, Sh. Shamsher Singh Gogi and Sh. Mamman Khan in the Assembly today during short duration discussion regarding the illegal encroachment of Ballabhgarh Kalpana Chawla City Park and connectivity of Faridabad with the International Airport, Jewar.
The Chief Minister said that these land dispute issues are not new they have been going around for years. These matters even went to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court had given a decision to vacate the park developed on this land, added Sh. Manohar Lal.
Taking a jibe at the opposition, the Chief Minister said that, Opposition should tell why this park has not been vacated in their tenure. The opposition should clarify their stand as to if they are with the Corporation or with encroachers, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
The Chief Minister said that the cases related to possession of land are going on continuously since the year 1980 and these cases are being vigorously advocated by the Faridabad Municipal Corporation and the State Government.
He said that even today the matter related to the ownership of this disputed land is pending in the court, yet the Opposition is busy giving unnecessary statements.
The Chief Minister shared that the Municipal Corporation, Faridabad had developed this Park about 30 years back on the entire land measuring 10.46 Acres including 1.04 Acre land under litigation which means that the Park is in existence on the entire land. The Park over this land has been developed by Municipal Corporation, Faridabad in the larger public interest so it is not appropriate to hold any officers or officials responsible for incurring expenditure for the development of the Park.
He informed that the matter is under litigation and Municipal Corporation, Faridabad is defending the case regularly in various Courts upto the Supreme Court of India. Further, the land under litigation is still in the possession of Municipal. Corporation, Faridabad and Park developed over this land are being used by the general public. The Government will ensure that all the legal remedies will be availed, asserted Sh. Manohar Lal.
