Chandigarh, March 6- Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the Prevention of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Bill has been passed by the State Government to overcome social anxiety among the people. A code of conduct has to be framed to curb such incidents taking place in different areas of the state. He said that is necessary to take cognizance over some incidents that have occurred in Haryana. According to the law, conversion cannot be done under coercion or allurement. Forced conversion through allurement or any other fraudulent means can be disastrous in the society. To tackle such situation, the State Government has passed the bill in view of public interest, the Chief Minister added.
Sh. Manohar Lal was interacting with the media persons in Gurukul College campus, Jhajjar on Sunday.
Replying to another question, the Chief Minister said that there is no law in any state by the name of domicile. Old system is existing even today. He said that India is one nation and all citizens are equal in the country. All States make laws according to the convenience of citizens.
