Chandigarh, January 24 - Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal's campaign to digitize the functioning of government offices was taken further when the Chief Minister launched a pilot project for those seeking information under the Right to Information Act in the form of an online RTI portal.
The main objective of starting the online RTI portal of the Chief Minister is also to take forward the Digital India campaign of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi.
On this occasion, State Information Commissioner, Sh. Arun Sangwan apprised the Chief Minister that the information would be put on the portal by the SPIO as first appeal and second appeal would be heard by the State Information Commissioner's office. He also informed that initially this portal has been linked to the Chief Secretary's office and Haryana State Information Commissioner's office as a pilot project. Any person can register by logging on to the portal http://rtiharyana.gov.in and for this OTP will come on their mobile. To get information from any department, they can put their information on this portal and the information sought by the State Public Information Officer (SPIO) of the concerned department will be uploaded on the portal online.
The Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal told the State Chief Information Commissioner, Sh. Yash Pal Singal that the Central Government would be written to for amendments in the Right to Information Act so that the public, the department and the SPIOs do not face any difficulty.
On this occasion, Haryana Administration Reforms Commissioner and Secretary, Sh. Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary, State Information Commission, Dr. Sarita Malik, Deputy Director General and SIO, Sh. Deepak Bansal, other officers were also present.
