Chandigarh, November, 2: Haryana Cabinet which met under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal here today accorded approval for the proposal regarding for ordinance of Second Amendment in “The Haryana Pond and Waste Water Management Authority Act" 2018.
The Haryana Pond and Waste Water Management Authority (HPWWMA) apart from taking various measures in restoration of ponds as well as to treat the Grey Water flowing into the ponds, has also presently taken up 4559 polluted ponds of 2247 villages for restoration, rejuvenation under Grey Water Management (GWM) which is the most important mission of the Government of India under Jal-Jeevan Mission (JJM).
The planning and physical progress of these ponds is in progress in the whole State of Haryana, in order to tackle alarming situation of underground water of many districts in the State. In order to retain competent person having requisite technical qualification and experience, age of superannuation for EVC, TA and MS was considered and approved from 65 to 68 years.
The Haryana Government have approved the proposal for amending and extending the tenure of the Executive Vice-Chairperson, Technical Advisor and Member Secretary, for the extension of tenure which is necessary for Restoration, Rejuvenation, Conservation, Construction and Management of Ponds, Treatment of Grey Water and Utilization thereof
And whereas, in view of the present extant and expedient requirements, it becomes necessary to immediately bring the present ordinance to amend Section 4(1) of The Haryana Pond and Waste Water Management Authority, Act No. 33 of 2018.
And whereas accordingly, the present ordinance is being passed to enable the amendment of Section 4(1) of the Act No. 33 of 2018, which upon promulgation of the present ordinance shall read as follows:
"However, in exceptional cases the Government may permit any of these officers to hold office upto the age of 68 years by recording reasons for the same."
