Chandigarh, August 28- Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of nine projects costing Rs 19. 82crore (Rs 19,82,29,000) in a programme organized near Maharaja Agrasen Chowk in Karnal on Saturday.
Minister of State for Sports, Sh. Sandeep Singh, MLAs of Gharaunda and Nilokheri, Harvinder Kalyan and Dharampal Gondar, respectively, were present on this occasion.
Among the projects whose foundation stone was laid and were inaugurated by the Chief Minister in Karnal today included Five Smart City Projects. An amount of Rs 13.26 crore will be spent on these projects. Out of 4 projects of Panchayati Raj and Zilla Parishad, two were inaugurated and the foundation stone of two were laid at a cost of Rs. 6,56,29,000.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the projects inaugurated and the foundation stone laid today would change the look of Karnal city as well as the district and people would be also be benefitted.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated the Project Cultural Corridor of Smart City.
Regarding this project, the Chief Minister said that it is the entrance of the Karnal city when coming from Chandigarh has been built beautifully and will give a fair idea of the essence of the city. Similarly, Namaste Chowk has been developed and made beautiful for those coming from Delhi. Apart from this, 7 entrances have been built around Karnal, from which one can get an idea of the aura of the city.
He said that now Karnal is an example of cleanliness and beauty the credit for which can be given to the sanitation workers. Before the inauguration and laying the foundation stone at the venue, the Chief Minister distributed rickshaws, vendor carts and cleaning tools to 80 sweepers on behalf of Panchayats and Development Department. He said that earlier also jetting machines were given for the purpose of cleaning sewerage and drains for cleaning the city and said that there would be no shortage of cleaning tools.
Development without discrimination in the state
The Chief Minister said that facilities are being provided to the people in the State without any discrimination. He added that sufficient work has been done to make Parivar Pehchan Patra in the state. Through this people will be given the benefits of government schemes. Earlier, such benefit was available to those earning Rs 10,000 per month, now its limit has been increased to Rs 1.80 lakh annually. He said that under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh is being given to the eligible people in a year. Earlier, 15 lakh families were getting such benefits in the state, now 12 lakh more families have been added by the central government, a total of 27 lakh families will be benefitted from this scheme.
He said that within a month, every household in the state would have a domestic gas connection and by November 1, all the households in the state would be issued a drinking water connection. According to the announcement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, every needy will get 5 kg of food grains free of cost till coming November. In this way the essential needs of any family i.e. food grains, electricity, water and gas will be fulfilled.
Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal in his address, gave a message to the people that the second wave of corona is slowly coming to an end, but protection and caution are still necessary.
Cultural Corridor built at a cost of 3 crores
The Chief Minister inaugurated the Cultural Corridor constructed at a cost of about Rs.3 crore. The Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that this project has been built from Maharaja Agrasen Chowk to Liberty Chowk on a stretch of 1.8 kilometer road. In this, an environment of non-motorized traffic has been created by the pedestrian route and the cycle track on both sides of the Baldi bypass. Paintings will be drawn on the masonry wall based on cultural heritage. This will boost the social, economic and cultural development of the city.
HIRD building built at a cost of more than Rs. 4 crore
The Chief Minister also inaugurated a four-storey building at Haryana State Institute of Rural Development, Nilokheri. An amount of Rs 4.31 crore (Rs. 4,31, 4,000) has been spent on this. There are 47 rooms in one hostel of this building, which are all air-conditioned and equipped with latest facilities.
He also inaugurated the Community Centre in Sultanpur village of Nilokheri block. It has been prepared at a cost of Rs 92.44 lakh.
Through this programme, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of the crematorium for dead animals to be built at Sarfabad Majra, on which an amount of Rs 42. 20 lakh would be spent. With this, two dead animals can be cremated simultaneously in one hour.
Foundation stone of Gobar gas plant in Shravan Majra under Gobardhan scheme
The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the Gobar Gas Plant to be built at village Shravan Majra in Indri Khand. 400 cubic meters of gas will be produced from this plant, which will provide gas to 100 houses of this village. An amount of Rs 90.61 lakh will be spent on this work and will be completed by February 28, 2022.
