Chandigarh, August 28 - Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that Haryana is the first state where sportspersons are given Rs 6 crore for winning gold medals, which is the maximum in the whole world. Haryana Government has prepared a structural framework for the management of stadiums so that the players of the state make a mark in the world. Haryana is known as the hub of sports in the country. Out of the total medals in the country, 60 per cent medals are contributed by players of Haryana. Haryana has a prominent place in the playing table of the country. Now, for the preparation of Khelo India, players are being prepared in the state, which will increase the pride of Haryana in the medal tally of the country in the coming games.
10,000 players participating in Khelo Haryana
Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal reached Karna Stadium late on Saturday evening to bless the players on the second day of Khelo Haryana competition. He watched boxing and football matches sitting in the stadium and also rewarded boxing players. He said that Haryana is getting a chance to host Khelo India, if all goes well, then in February 2022, Khelo India competitions will be organized in Panchkula. For the preparation of this competition, Khelo Haryana is being organized for about 10,000 players in 6 districts of the state. Through these games, players (boys and girls) in the age group of 18 years are being prepared for Khelo India. He said that every facility is being provided in the stadiums for the convenience of the players in the state. Sports stadiums are being built according to the need by mapping the area where the stadium is demanded, and sports are being promoted according to the interest there. He said that arrangements for coaches are being made to make every stadium convenient.
He said that a player is a person who plays for the honour of his family, village, state and country. To encourage the players further, the Chief Minister is going to the villages of the players who have received medals in the Olympics and felicitated them. Besides this, the level of development required in the villages of medal winning players is being fulfilled. He told that he had gone to Ravi Dahiya's village Nahari in the past, where the indoor boxing stadium has been approved. At the same time, he went to Sumit's village Kurad and announced development works. Now, he will go to Bajrang Punia's village Khundan on September 5. He said that he would go from village to village of the players, where he would fulfill the needs, even if he had to go to 100 villages.
Shooting ranges in Karnal and Jhajjar
The Chief Minister said that an athletic court would be set up in every district to promote athletics in the state. At the same time, to promote shooting, arrangements will be made for shooting ranges in Karnal and Jhajjar.
Dosage allowance made from 250 to 400
The Chief Minister said that for the convenience of the players, the food allowance in Haryana has been increased from Rs 250 to Rs 400. During the competition, the daily expenditure was increased from Rs 400 to Rs 1000 , so that the player can buy track suits or other items.
Rishabh of Bhiwani, Tannu of Fatehabad overall champion
In boxing, Rishabh of Bhiwani in boys' category Tannu of Fatehabad in girls' category were overall champion.
The Chief Minister honoured the players in boxing with medals. Among them, Lakshya Panipat, Karan Faridabad, Chaman Rohtak and Bhiwani's Rishabh were all over champions, in girls' category Tamannaah Karnal, Muskan Jind, Himanshi Rohtak and Fatehabad's Tannu were all over champions.
Khelo Haryana competition being held at 6 places: Sh. Sandeep Singh
On this occasion, Minister of State for Sports Sh. Sandeep Singh informed that Khelo Haryana competition is being organized in 6 districts. Khelo Haryana competition was organized to improve the performance of the players of Haryana in Olympics or other sports. Haryana is the first state where a sportsperson was given Rs 5 lakh in advance to prepare for the Olympics. He said that the Chief Minister has given special facilities so that there is no inconvenience to the players in the state. Sports Director Sh. Pankaj Nain welcomed all the guests.
