Chandigarh August 26: Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal has directed the officers concerned to expedite the work to be carried out under the Panchkula Integrated Development Plan to ensure holistic development of Panchkula and to develop it as economic capital. Along with this, the Chief Minister also directed to prepare a special plan to develop Sector 5 Panchkula from a commercial point of view and to make it a Center of Attraction.
The Chief Minister gave these directions while presiding over the review meeting of the works being carried out under the Panchkula Integrated Development Scheme held here today. Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Sh. Gian Chand Gupta also remained present.
Directing the officers, the Chief Minister said that under the development plan of Panchkula, the work of widening and beautification of the roads from Panchkula to Mandhana, Mandhana to Morni, Morni to Tikkar Tal and Tikkar Tal to Raipurrani should be completed at the earliest. Besides this, work should also be done to complete the proposed road from Ramgarh to Himachal Pradesh at the earliest, so that the movement of tourists can be facilitated.
The Chief Minister was apprised that the work of direct connectivity from Chandigarh Airport to Panchkula is in progress. For this, a bridge over the Ghaggar river is also under construction. Besides this, the construction work of the Pinjore airstrip is also in progress. Soon after its completion, people will be able to take advantage of the air taxi service.
The Chief Minister said that adventure activities like parasailing, paramotors and jet scooters should be started in Morni soon.
Giving directions, the Chief Minister said that the identified trekking routes in Morni should be started soon and youth clubs or adventure clubs should be connected for safe trekking on these trekking routes.
He also directed that the signages and marking on the trekking routes should be done properly so that the tourists do not face any kind of problem.
Giving directions, Sh. Manohar Lal said that local youth should be trained as nature guides, which on one hand would benefit the tourists on these trekking routes and on the other hand employment opportunities would also be made available to the local youth.
He said that Mountain Cycle Rally programmes should be organized to promote tourism. Besides this, the tourism circuit route plan should also be completed at the earliest.
Entertainment area and tourist Facilitation Center to be established
The Chief Minister directed that possibilities should be explored to establish an entertainment zone in the adjoining area of the proposed film city.
Sh. Manohar Lal said that the work of establishing Nakshatra Vatika, Sugandha Vatika and Rashi Van should be expedited to promote and preserve the green environment of Panchkula.
Emphasis to be given on setting up pharma industry and industrial cluster
While directing the officers of HSIIDC, the Chief Minister said that all the processes should be completed soon for setting up pharma industry in Barwala. This is an important project of the state government, so the process of plot auction should be implemented after negotiating with the investors as soon as possible, directed Sh. Manohar Lal.
He said that dedicated efforts should also be made towards setting up industrial clusters and developing Barwala as an industrial township.
The Chief Minister was apprised that to develop Panchkula as a medical hub, two big hospitals with modern facilities would be opened in Sector-32 Extension and Sector-5C. Wellness Centre and Panchkarma Centre are already functional at Thapli.
It was also informed in the meeting that dedicated efforts are being made to establish Education City in Panchkula. Land has been identified in the Chandimandir area.
The Chief Minister was apprised that the first phase of activities for the construction of Film City on 60 acres of land of HMT Pinjore has been completed.
Water problem in Morni to be resolved permanently
While reviewing the problem of drinking water in Morni, the Chief Minister directed the officials to find a permanent solution to it.
He said that new sources of water should be created and the available water should be properly managed so that availability of water can be ensured in all areas.
The Chief Minister was apprised that the availability of water would be ensured from the Dangrana and Diwanawala dams being built on the Ghaggar river. Besides this, a proposal has also been prepared to install 11 tube wells in the Morni area. Also, it is proposed to prepare a storage tank on about 130 acres of land near Mata Mansa Devi temple.
Along with the development of Panchkula, this area has to be developed culturally as well, said the Chief Minister. For this, programmes should be organized in Kurukshetra as well as in Panchkula on International Gita Mahotsav, he added.
The Chief Minister said that along with this, programmes like classical music events and dance shows etc. should also be organized.
He also directed that in order to give adequate information about the development of Panchkula city to the residents of Panchkula as well as the people of the state, maps related to the Panchkula Integrated Development Plan should be prepared and displayed at the main places of the city, in which every corner of Panchkula should be painted and information about the schemes being run by various departments should be given.
