Chandigarh, Aug 24: Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that Mission Merit and Mission Transparency will continue in the recruitment process adopted by the State Government to provide government jobs. Terming the recent constable recruitment paper leak as an unfortunate incident, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the State Government has come very close to nab the accused in this case. So far more than 25 people have been arrested.
The Chief Minister said this while replying to a Calling Attention Motion brought during the ongoing Monsoon Session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha.
While disclosing the connection of the constable recruitment paper leak case to Jammu, the Chief Minister said that Rakesh Kumar, a resident of Jammu, has been arrested in this case. He is a technical manager in a company. Rakesh Kumar had leaked the paper a week before the examination date. Rakesh Kumar gave this paper to data entry operator Jitender Kumar, added Sh. Manohar Lal.
He said that more than 25 people have been arrested so far. On the demand of the opposition to hand over the matter to the CBI, the Chief Minister said that State Police is capable of investigation and is doing a good job. If the State Government fails to reach the roots of the matter, then the investigation can be done by any higher agency, added Sh. Manohar Lal.
Accused will not be spared
The Chief Minister said that no stone will be left unturned in the investigation. The State Police has unfolded the links connected with this case like the place of paper printing and from where the paper was leaked. He said that if the person sitting in HSSC or in the government is responsible then he too will not be spared. He said that the government is also enacting a law to stop copying. We also have to be careful and make provision for punishment, added Sh. Manohar Lal.
All the data secured with the State Government
Lashing out at the Opposition for raising questions regarding data security, the Chief Minister said that the State Government keeps HSSC records with foolproof security. He said that after the formation of the present State Government in 2014, at the time of restructuring of HSSC, the old records were checked and it was found that only those records which are in the possession of the court are safe. The rest of the data was not found anywhere.
He said that during the previous government's tenure after the formation of HSSC in 1988, only six cases of cheating were registered till 2014, out of which the previous governments had dismissed four cases saying that the accused were innocent.
During the tenure of our government from the year 2014 to 2021, 43 cases of cheating have been registered. Of these, 15 cases were of cheating during the examination conducted by the Central Government, informed the Chief Minister.
He alleged that in the earlier governments, cases were registered with great difficulty. Even if they were registered no action was taken against the accused.
The previous governments played with the future of the youth
Responding to the allegations of the opposition, the Chief Minister said that the present State Government is doing recruitment on the basis of transparency and merit. He said that the recruitment of PTI, Art and Craft teachers done by the previous government is proof of how the recruitment process was done in a fraudulent manner. He said that these recruitments were cancelled by the court and the earlier governments are responsible for it. The court had cancelled three recruitments done by the previous governments. These recruitments were done by setting aside the rules and regulations. Our government has cancelled four recruitments after finding errors so that no question is raised later, added Sh. Manohar Lal.
