Chandigarh, June 26. Haryana Government will provide incentives on sowing water-saving crops instead of paddy under the Crop Diversification Scheme this year. Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal has given approval to implement ‘Mera Pani Meri Virasat Yojana’ for Kharif-2021 under crop diversification.
Presiding over a meeting of the officers of Agriculture Department, State Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Minister, Sh. JP Dalal said that instead of paddy, farmers should be motivated to sow alternative crops.
He said that this scheme will be implemented in the whole state and under this scheme, farmers are given option to grow alternative crops other than paddy like (cotton, maize, Pulses, groundnut, sesame, guar, castor, vegetables and fruits). For this an incentive amount of Rs. 7,000 per acre will be given. The farmer who grow fodder instead of paddy or keep their fields vacant, they will also get the benefit of this scheme.
To take advantage of this scheme, interested farmers will have to register on ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’ Portal. Earlier the last date for registration was fixed as 25th June, 2021 now it has been extended to 15th July, 2021.
Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Department, Dr. Sumita Mishra and Director General of Agriculture, Dr. Hardeep Singh were also present during the meeting.
