Chandigarh, April 26: Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal has said that no corona infected patient will be allowed to suffer due to lack of oxygen. The Chief Minister was interacting with media persons after taking stock of essential health services for COVID-19 patients at PGIMS, Rohtak.

The Chief Minister said that the quota for oxygen has been increased to 200 MT which was earlier fixed at 162 MT. The Central Government has been requested for 240 MT of oxygen.

Sh. Manohar Lal informed that industrialist, Sh. Naveen Jindal has said that he will send 5 MT of liquid oxygen and people will not be allowed to suffer from lack of oxygen.

He said that in view of the COVID-19 pandemic, an additional 650 beds are being arranged at PGIMS, Rohtak, whereas earlier PGIMS, 350 beds are already available for COVID-19 patients.

He said that 1250 beds are being arranged in different medical colleges of the state and space has been identified for setting up 500 beds. The structure will be erected there in the coming three-four days and soon all these beds will be available for the COVID-19 infected patients.

He said that private hospitals are being monitored at the state level so that private hospitals do not admit more patients than their capacity and the oxygen supply for COVID-19 patients remains constant.

He said that those COVID-10 patients who do not require oxygen should remain in isolation in their homes. A health kit is being provided by the Health Department so that all of them can take care of themselves properly at home, he added. The Chief Minister said that in this hour of crisis, the entire administration and the people of the state should work together to defeat this pandemic.

Sh. Manohar Lal earlier held a meeting of Administrative officers at PGIMS, Rohtak and received reports of the work being done to deal with the pandemic. The Chief Minister also took stock of the facilities for the patients undergoing treatment at PGIMS from the Vice Chancellor and issued necessary guidelines to them. Vice Chancellor of Health University, Dr. OP Kalra apprised the Chief Minister of all the facilities during the meeting. After this, Sh. Manohar Lal inspected the Lala Shyam Lal Building.

Mayor, Rohtak, Sh. Man Mohan Goel, former Minister of State, Sh. Manish Kumar Grover, Deputy Commissioner, Rohtak, Sh. Manoj Kumar, District Superintendent of Police, Sh. Rahul Sharma, and officers of various departments were present.
