Chandigarh 22 April: Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal has given directions to ensure adequate arrangement of oxygen in all the hospitals of the state on time and not to give Remdesivir injection without a doctor’s prescription. Sh. Manohar Lal was presiding over the meeting of senior officers of various departments along with Deputy Commissioners who joined through video conferencing today. He reviewed the COVID-19 situation in the state, Rabi crop procurement status and Jal Shakti Mission.
Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Sh. JP Dalal was also present on the occasion.
The Chief Minister said that officers should ensure that the amount of oxygen supply should be proportionate in the manner in which it has been allocated for which he directed to make a supply roster as well. He also directed to make arrangements for the supply of medicines. He said that in order to handle the COVID-19 pandemic situation in the state, a system should be set up at all levels.
The Health Department officers were also asked to ensure that Remdesivir injection is not sold without a doctor’s prescription. He also said to keep a record of the injection. He said that 1000 doses of this injection are being supplied daily in the state and also asked the concerned officers to ensure that it is not sold on the black market.
He said that there is no shortage of oxygen in the state. He directed the officers of the Health Department that the supply of oxygen should come regularly and to monitor that the distribution should be done fairly and regularly, including to all private hospitals. Along with this, directions to start a 24*7 helpline number was also issued so that hospitals can contact the number at the time of any emergency. The Chief Minister also asked to reserve 50 percent beds for COVID-19 patients in private hospitals. During the meeting, details about COVID-19 positive patients were also presented and detailed information about the plan to vaccinate all people above 18 years of age from May 1, 2021 was also given.
Procurement and lifting review
The Chief Minister asked to be updated about the situation and problems regarding procurement of wheat from all the Deputy Commissioners as well as lifting in the mandis. The Chief Minister said that if a transporter does not ensure lifting for more than 48 hours, then the District Administration should get the lifting done at their level. He also directed to ensure the arrangement of sheds, tarpaulin etc. in view of the weather conditions.
Jal Shakti Mission
During the review of the Jal Shakti Mission, the Chief Minister asked to appoint a Nodal Officer at the district level to implement this scheme launched by the Prime Minister. During the meeting, it was informed that the focus of the department is to store maximum amount of rainwater. This plan will be reviewed monthly. For this, information was also given to work for the rejuvenation of the ponds in collaboration with the Pond Authority. He also asked the Pond Authorities for cooperation to identify encroachments on the ponds.
Haryana Chief Secretary, Sh. Vijai Vardhan, Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. DS Dhesi, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. V Umashankar, Additional Principal Secretary, Dr. Amit Agrawal and senior officers of Health, Agriculture, and Irrigation Department were present during the meeting.
