Chandigarh December 25: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal has honoured Information, Public Relations and Languages Department with a state-level award for developing first of its kind Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) Software for issuing release orders and payment of bills to various media houses. The department has received the award at a state-level function held on the occasion of Good Governance Day here today.
Chief Minister, while honouring Additional Chief Secretary, Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Mrs. Dheera Khandelwal, Director General, Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Mr. P.C. Meena, Additional Director(Admin), Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Ms. Varsha Khangwal and Mr. Pardeep Kaushal, Senior Technical Director, NIC, lauded the officers for bringing the much-needed e-reform in the old age system of issuing release orders and payment of bills by replacing it with the first of its kind e-solution.
Envisioning Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal’s idea of bringing transparency and efficiency in the entire process of releasing State Government Advertisements and Payments to media houses, Information, Public Relations and Languages Department has developed first of its kind Online Release Orders and Billing System (OROBS).
While, appreciating the efforts of the Department especially the project team, the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that it is an example worth emulating for other states as well.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Manohar Lal said that release orders and advertisement bills are being processed through this online system. He said that the payment of bills will be made within a period of 30 days of submission to the concerned media houses after the submission of bills.
Sharing more details, Director General, Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Mr. P.C. Meena said that the Online Release Orders and Billing System (OROBS) is an ERP system for Information Public Relations and Languages Department, Haryana aimed at bringing transparency and quickness in the entire process issuance of release orders and bill payments. The system has been developed in-house by the teams of NIC Haryana and DIPRL Haryana, he shared.
The online system will eliminate the manual process of submission of advertisement requests/indents by client organizations and manual bill submission by the print media. The departmental officials and print media will also be able to track the status of release orders and bills online through a comprehensive dashboard. Besides this, the system has been integrated with SMS gateway to send event-based alerts to various stakeholders.
