Chandigarh, December 17- While swiftly working towards zero tolerance policy against corruption as adopted by Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, the State Vigilance Bureau had registered 5 enquiries and completed 7 enquiries during the month of November 2020  and the report of these enquiries are being sent to the Government. Out of 7 enquiries, allegations in 4 enquiries were proved in which bureau has recommended departmental action against six gazetted officers and two non-gazetted officers and registration of criminal case against one non gazetted officer.

Sharing more information here today, a spokesperson of the bureau said that in three investigations, a departmental enquiry has been recommended against five Gazetted officers and two Non-Gazetted officers and also recommend the recovery of an amount of Rs. 2,34,398 from a private person. Besides this, in the fourth enquiry, Bureau has been recommended to register a criminal case against one Non-Gazetted officer and departmental action against one Gazetted Officer.

Besides this, two special checking and technical reports were sent to the government, in which the Bureau has recommended departmental action against three Gazetted Officers and two Non-Gazetted officers. The spokesman said that bureau has also recommended recovery of an amount of Rs. 1,02,600 from concerned contractors.

He said that during the same period, eight officers and officials were caught red-handed while taking illegal gratification ranging from Rs 500 to Rs 80,000 and the Buerau has also registered cases against these officers and officials under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

Among those who have been booked under this Act include EASI Mohmmad Iqbal and Head Constable, Dharmender, Police Station, Mundkati, District Palwal while accepting an illegal gratification of Rs 80,000, Sanjeev Kumar Batra, Assisstant Secretary, HSAMB, Mandi Adampur, District Hisar for accepting Rs. 500, Khurshid Kumar VLDA, village Jurasi, Tehsil Tauru, District Nuh and Tarun Kumar, Agent of New India Insurance Company Limited for accepting Rs. 2,300, Paramjit, Chakbandi Patwari, District Karnal for accepting Rs. 5,000 and Alokpath, Estate Officer, Waqf Board, Rohtak and Naseer, Rent Collector, Waqf Board, Rohtak for accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000.
