Chandigarh, October 27 - Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal today performed Bhoomi Pujan for the expansion of the second phase of the Integrated Aviation Hub in Hisar on the occasion of completion of one year of the Government. Under this, it is proposed to increase the length of the runway from 1200 meters to 3000 meters at a cost of Rs 160 crore. The width of this runway will be 60 feet.
The Chief Minister said that the development of Integrated Aviation Hub at Hisar is a Mega Project of Government of Haryana to elevate one of its oldest airstrips as an airport of International standards: Civil Aviation Department aims to undertake multiple aviation activities such as Enhanced Airport System, Aviation Training, Simulator Training, Maintenance Repair Overhaul (MRO) facilities, Defence Aerospace manufacturing, multi modal logistic park, Air Cargo Port. On this occasion, according to Vedic practices, a Yagya was organized.
The Chief Minister said that the project is being developed in a Phased manner. In phase-I, Hisar airport became first DGCA licensed Aerodrome of the State and phase-Il of the project involves the development of the 3rd largest airport of NCR Region. Phase-ll of the project includes an extension of the runway to 10,000 feet. It will have Cat-Il lighting system cum Instrument landing System/DVOR and construction of Allied Airport Infrastructures of International standards to enable the airport to undertake operations by large aircraft like Airbus-320 and Boeing-737. Environment clearance and Environment management programme for airport development area of 7200 acres has been recommended by the Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change recently.
On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Dushyant Chautala, Deputy Speaker, Vidhan Sabha, Mr. Ranbir Singh Gangwa, Minister of State, Mr. Anoop Dhanak, MP Hisar, Mr. Brijendra Singh, Rajya Sabha MP, Mr. DP Vats, MLA, Mr. Kamal Gupta, MLA, Mr. Vinod Bhayana, MLA, Mr. Jogiram Sihag, Mayor, Mr. Gautam Sardana were present among others.
