Chandigarh August 9- Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal today congratulated Mr. Pradeep Singh Malik from Sonipat, who topped the UPSC Civil Services Examination, 2019 and said that his achievement would also inspire other youth of the State and country.

Mr Manohar Lal was interacting with Mr. Pradeep Singh Malik as the latter called on him at New Delhi today to take his blessings.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister felicitated Mr Pradeep Singh Malik with a shawl. He also honoured Mr Sukhbir Singh Malik, father of Mr Pradeep Singh Malik by presenting him a shawl and said that credit for the success of Mr Pradeep goes to him.

Mr Manohar Lal said that by achieving this great feat, Mr Pradeep Singh Malik has brought laurels not only to his family and Sonipat but also to Haryana. It is worth mentioning here that, Mr Pradeep Singh, who belongs to Tewri village in Sonipat district, has secured All India first rank in the 2019 UPSC Civil Services exam, the results of which were announced recently.

The Chief Minister said that Mr Pradeep Singh has secured first rank in the Civil Services exam through sheer hard work and dedication. The youth of the country have a lot of talent and are getting success with their ability whenever they get an opportunity. Referring to the call given by Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi for 'Atmnirbhar Baharat’ the Chief Minister said that the youth are being provided better and adequate opportunities to move forward in various fields.

Thanking the Chief Minister, Mr Pradeep Singh said that besides the society, teachers, family and friends, the State has also supported him a lot in his success. He said that during the interview, he was asked questions regarding Haryana from an administrative point of view. In response, he referred to various public welfare policies of the State Government and several reforms undertaken in the field of Ease of Doing Business.

He said that apart from this, he also mentioned other achievements like inclusion of Haryana in the top five states in view of Good Governance Index, Gold Award for timely implementation of citizen-centric services under the e-governance and schemes implemented for women empowerment and strengthening the agriculture sector.
