Chandigarh, July 4- Due to the extensive efforts of Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, Yoga has emerged as a new revolution in the lives of people within the country and abroad. Taking this revolution to the youth of the State, Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal will inaugurate parks and gymnasiums in 1000 villages and in this sequence, he will inaugurate the first 110 parks and gymnasiums from Chandigarh tomorrow through video conferencing.

Giving detailed information in this regard, an official spokesperson said that Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Dushyant Chautala, who also holds the portfolio of Development and Panchayats Department, will be present on the occasion.

It is noteworthy that the Chief Minister inaugurated 401 parks and gymnasiums at one go from Panchkula on the occasion of International Yoga Day in the year 2019 and he has also formed the Haryana Yoga Parishad.

The spokesperson said that with the aim to make yoga an integral part of everyone’s life, the Chief Minister has decided to engage yoga volunteers in the yoga centres and gymnasiums being opened in rural areas of the state. These Yoga volunteers will be appointed through Zila Parishads and preference will be given to the youth of the same village or of nearby villages, he added. He said that the age limit for these Yoga volunteers will be between 18 and 35 years and the educational qualification will be 10 + 2 pass from Haryana School Education Board or CBSE. In addition, they must possess a certification of Level-1 or its equivalent course in Yoga from one of the 16 nationally recognized institutes or a one-year diploma from any university. Apart from this, AYUSH coaches will also be appointed in every district under the outsourcing policy to monitor the working of these Yoga Volunteers till regular recruitment. The educational qualification for AYUSH coaches will be the same as prescribed for the Yoga Coach by the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs.

He said that with the efforts of the Prime Minister, yoga has become a part of the lifestyle of the people. Thus reviving this ancient practice of India, today yoga has rejuvenated the health of the people and now even the youth of the state are making yoga a part of their daily lifestyle, he added. He said that parks and gymnasiums will be a suitable place for people to practice yoga.

In order to bring a positive change in the mindset of the people during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry of AYUSH organized a "Mera Jeevan-Mera Yog" video blogging competition on International Yoga Day this year and appealed to the people to practice yoga with their families at home which gained a lot of support from the people.
