Chandigarh, June 26- Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal has said that in order to promote micro-irrigation projects, the Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department, Irrigation and Water Resources Department and the Command Area Development Authority (CADA) should jointly complete the work of regional survey within two months by mapping of the canal system.

The Chief Minister was presiding over a meeting with Micro Irrigation Mission Authority and concerned departments to develop a system for groundwater control. Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr. Jai Parkash Dalal was also present in the meeting.

In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary, Irrigation and Water Resource Department, Mr. Devender Singh gave a presentation on the outline of the constituted authority. He informed the Chief Minister that the Micro Irrigation Mission Authority will work mainly through the Governing Body and Executive Committee. He said that the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal will be the Chairperson of the Governing body and will comprise 10 ex-officio members, while the Chief Secretary, Mrs. Keshni Anand Arora will be the Chairperson of the Executive Committee and will have 7 ex-officio members.

The ex-officio members of the Governing body will include Chief Minister as Irrigation and Finance Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Dushyant Chautala as Development and Panchayats Minister, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr. Jai Parkash Dalal, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Rajesh Khullar, Chief Secretary, Mrs. Keshni Anand Arora, Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department, Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal, Additional Chief Secretary, Irrigation and Water Resources Department, Mr. Devender Singh, Additional Chief Secretary, Finance Department, Mr. TVSN Prasad and Principal Secretary, Development and Panchayats Department, Mr. Sudhir Rajpal.

Similarly, the ex-officio members of the Executive Committee will be Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department, Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal, Additional Chief Secretary, Irrigation and Water Resources Department, Mr. Devender Singh, Additional Chief Secretary, Finance Department, Mr. TVSN Prasad and Principal Secretary, Development and Panchayats Department, Mr. Sudhir Rajpal, Director General, Agriculture Department, Mr. Vijay Singh Dahiya, Engineer in Chief, Irrigation and Water Resources Department, Mr. Birender Singh. Apart from this, Secretary, Irrigation and Water Resources Department and Administrator, CADA, Mr. Wazeer Singh Goyat will be its Member Secretary.
