Chandigarh, June 6 – Haryana Government has decided to allow the reopening of religious places, places of worship for public, and Shopping Malls in a regulated and restricted manner across the state with effect from June 8, 2020 except in the districts of Gurugram and Faridabad in view of large number of positive cases being found on daily basis during last ten days in these districts. Apart from this, hotels, restaurants and other hospitality services will be reopened with generic preventive measures across the state. The timing of opening for all will remain between 9 am to 8 pm so as to ensure the compliance of night curfew between 9 PM to 5 AM. A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting chaired by the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal regarding reopening of these places here today. The Chief Minister directed to regulate and restrict these activities by following the guidelines and instructions as issued by Ministry of Home Affairs in letter and spirit keeping in view the prevailing conditions due to COVID-19 pandemic in Haryana. Union Ministry of Home Affairs has extended the lockdown period in the Containment Zones upto June 30, 2020 and to re-open certain activities in a phased manner outside the Containment Zones.

The Chief Minister directed that the generic preventive measures including simple public health measures, social distancing, wearing of face covers or masks would be observed by all workers and visitors in these places at all times.

It was decided that no aarti, congregation or mass and collective gathering for prayers will be allowed. Only individual prayers will be allowed and no physical offerings like Prasad or distribution or sprinkling of holy water, etc. will be allowed inside the religious place.

It was decided that the community kitchens/langars/Ann-daan, etc. at religious places should be followed physical distancing norms while preparing and distributing food. Hotels, restaurants and other hospitality services Hotels and Restaurants in the State will be opened with the generic preventive measures.

The restrictions such as Banquet Halls will be allowed to operate with maximum of 50 guests at a time by following the formula of social distancing. Restaurants in Hotels will be allowed to operate with only 50 per cent of the capacity. No Buffet service will be allowed. Only ala carte (ordering individually on the menu) services will be allowed. No Bars in the restaurants will be allowed. Room service or takeaways for dine in rooms will be allowed. Gaming Arcades and Children Play Areas (wherever applicable) will remain closed.

It was decided to allow restaurants to operate with only 50 per cent of the capacity. No Buffet service will be allowed. Only ala carte (ordering individually on the menu) services are allowed. No Bars in the restaurants will be allowed.

For shopping malls, it was decided that no such activities will be allowed in the districts of Gurugram and Faridabad in view of large number of positive cases being found on daily basis during last 10 days. In all remaining districts of the State, such activities are allowed subject to restrictions of social distancing, wearing of face covers/masks need to be observed by all (workers and visitors) in these places at all times. Gaming Arcades, Children Play Areas and Cinema Halls inside shopping malls will remain closed.
